Blendtec® Twister Jar
I have owned a vita mix machine for 15 years and it does a beautiful job. I was thinking of upgrading to another vita mix until I saw the blendtec 725. I was Leary at first because CNET reviews talked about the jar having a big problem. I've not had any problems. If you do, the company will replace the jar at no charge for the life of the warrantee which is seven years. Also, there is no store like BB&B who will gladly take it back at any time. They are the best! I purchased it and once home, I immediately used it. I also purchased the twister jar as I wanted to try to make nut butter. (Use the twister jar that is an additional purchase). You use the twister jar to make ice cream or very, very thick shakes or nut butter. Well, I was not disappointed! It made such a smooth beautiful nut butter. Just put any nut you'd like to make as a nut butter and it seconds I had wonderful smooth, creamy nut butter. I also made a very thick strawberry ice cream using frozen strawberries and it did an amazing job. The jar that comes with the blendtec is used for all other things. I make green smoothies and soup etc. They couldn't be better. Everything is pulverized and so creamy and smooth. To be honest, I really see no difference between the vita mix machine and the blend tech 725 except the blendtec 725 is a little quieter. I have been told by several retailers that have sold other models of this blendtec machine for a long time that the other models of the blendtec when you make something thicker that the machine tends to walk all over the counter because they are too light weight. So if you want to buy a solid machine, one that does a beautiful job, very steady on the counter just make sure to get the blendtec 725. I would get it again. I'm fussy so that's a strong statement for me.

Makes Great Banana Ice Cream
Pretty easy to use. Have to really press down hard on the lid but it makes great banana ice cream!

It's great for portion control on smoothies or shakes due to the size. However, so it's the Magic Bullet. When it comes to frozen deserts or crushing nuts it does a pretty good jobs. For peanut butter it's great. Not so great for almond butter which it took long time as almond seeds get stuck under the blade and score the bottom of the jar. I'm wondering if I ended up eating a blend of almond butter and non BPA plastic. As far as frozen deserts it's excellent for any fruit but seeded berries. Not only that they scratch the jar but they are never pulverized no matter how many cycle you're running and twist the lid. And a seeded berry soup it's not so appealing to me. So I find it good for some and bad for some.

Perfect for mixing for one!
I bought this so I wouldn't make too much for myself! It works perfect and it scared me at first when it went into its phases as it mixed my smoothie. Definitely use the buttons of choices. They mix perfectly, and if you like them smoother mix twice.
