Nostalgia Electrics™ Retro Series Hard & Sugar-Free Cotton Candy Maker in Raspberry
Fun product but needs some changes
This product is fun to use but there are some drawbacks. It is difficult to remove the part that melts and spins the candy. Also the bowl doesn't always stay attached firmly enough. It does make cotton candy well but the servings aren't large and it takes too long if you are using it for a party. I found it worked better with hard candy versus the sugar that can be purchased for the machine. As I use it more it does seem to get a little easier to work with each time.

A Fun Novelty!
I got this maker for Christmas from a friend who knows I LOVE cotton candy. I was dismayed at the fair when I found out they don't serve it fresh anymore! Anyway, This machine is easy and fun to use. It doesn't exactly produce carnival/fair style cotton candy but it is close enough that you can still enjoy it. Clean up is a little annoying. The only bad thing about it for the price is that after a few uses it kind of loses it's novelty. Will throw in storage until the next garage sale or children's birthday party.

Concept is great!
We enjoyed this machine at a friends house and made tons of cotton candy with a variety of hard candies. We purchased one for ourselves but the motor gave out on the third batch. BB&B was AMAZING with our return and easily accepted it back and shipped us another one to our house at no charge. We haven't used the new one yet but I'm hoping it holds up.

I was excited as the kids!
We bought this for our kids this Christmas and had so much fun spinning cotton candy tonight. It was so easy to set up and take down/clean up. I do recommend giving the machine at least 10 minutes to warm up. The kids had so much fun going through my hard candy to create flavors. Butterscotch's tasted great, and we also did sour warheads, those were fun! I can't wait to fire it back up and see what else we can make :) I didn't have any issues with the lid, and I soaked for 3 minutes and clean up was complete. Must get.

This little machine was a Christmas gift for my twelve year old. I was surprised to see how well it works for the money. We recommend not using "Jolly Ranchers" because they tend to gum up the heat chamber. We thought "Nerds" worked well by yielding quality webs that were easy to capture and the heat chamber stayed clean.

no reg. sugar! life savers or floss sugar r best!
life savers (all flavors) are the best candy to use in this machine. they dont clump up or clog the machine at all and you can quickly and easily get a full size serving of cotton candy out of just 3 or 4 life savers. tastes great too... dont use jolly ranchers because that kind of cotton candy just turns back into a jolly rancher once you put it in your mouth...
if you use sugar dont use the regular sugar you get at the store because it clogs up the machine bad.. it does work but its really hard to unclump up that sugar...try it and you'll see what i mean. get the special floss sugar for cotton candy machines. (you wont find it at a grocery store so you'll have to order it at amazon). this stuff clumps up too but its much easier to unclump. when the cotton candy stops flowing take a fork or a knife and carefully let it scrape along the inside running the fork up and down while its still spinning to break up the clumped up stuff...it will get loud but thats okay, this is quicker than turning it off to unclump it.

Best Christmas gift this year
My 8 year old daughter loves making cotton candy for her friends and family! She uses Jolly Ranchers, Life Savers and Root Beer Barrels. She adds 2 teaspoons of white granulated sugar with the hard candy which makes it fluffier and not have such a strong flavor. This machine works better than I ever thought, my only complaint is that the cover comes off easily. The found that if one person holds the machine, it helps the cover stay on and decreases noise. This was the best gift this year!
