6 month review
Ok so this is an update to m review in Jan.
I've had this machine for awhile now and I use it everyday. I really love how easy it is and how great the coffee is but today, I am fed up!
Over the last few weeks this thing can't seem to get my water measurement right. I throw in 10 cups of water, it only goes up to 3 cups. Which means it grinds enough beans for 3 cups but the 10 cups of water come out. So weak weak coffee and I'm so over it.
Gotta change my star rating to an average.
Calling customer service today!

Love this coffee maker!
I researched this machine and wanted a 'grind and brew' maker for fresh coffee. It has a multitude of options for size of cup, strength of coffee, etc. It does require you to clean it out after every brew, but it also reminds you to do it too! It's easy to clean, and it always tastes fresh. I'm glad I purchased it, especially with the 20% off coupon :)

Overall Great Coffee Maker
After reading the previous reviews, there's two things to know about this coffee make.
1) It's not difficult to figure out how to use it! Fill the bean hoppper. Adjust the flavor setting up or down or to pre-ground. Select either carafe or single serve. If you select single serve keep pressing button to desired size. Fill the clearly labeled water resevoir then press start. I skimmed over the instructions and had no problems I thought the steps to brew a cup were pretty
intuitive
2) The one downside I have found and it's been stated by several others is that the metal disc that closes the bean shoot accumulates ground coffee on the outside due to moisture. It must be wiped periodically like every day or every other day otherwise it gets messy.
I have been using the machine about twice a day (I work from home) for the past year and have really grown fond of the quality and convenience of this coffee maker.
For the reviewer who poured water into the bean hopper and claimed the machine sucks and expected Breville to refund or provide a replacement, you need to learn how to be accountable for your mistakes and realize that was your own fault and not a design flaw of the coffee maker. The cover to the bean hopper clearly states that water is not to be poured into that area. I really hope that you were to tired to realize you were pouring water over the coffee beans!

It's a fail!
I was going to give this coffe maker 3-4 stars, as there is quite the learning curve to getting the strength of the coffee to be consistant but another problem has become apparent. My husband made coffee for the first time in it, accidently poured water into the bean hopper. That was three days ago and the coffee maker still will not work. We tried all the troubleshooting ideas and I called customer service. They said let it sit and dry out for a day or so. If that doesn't work it is broke and it is not covered under warranty. Well this was an expensive coffeemaker and now I have to get another one. It will NOT be a Breville, thats for sure.
