Waterpik® Elite™ Riata 14-mode Handheld Showerhead in Brushed Nickel
Leaks at ball head!
Got this at BB&B as part of a shower/bath remodel. Installed by professional plumbers. Leaked at the ball head and they could not fix it due to the cheap plastic. Cheap plastic parts, not up to the job even when brand-new! I expected more at this price point. Buyer beware!
Back it goes to BB&B!

Waterpik's newer products
I purchased a Waterpik 14-mode Riata handheld showerhead in January 2014 to replace an older ( appx 10 year ) model Waterpik 16-mode handheld that finally developed a failed hose.
I installed the new model precisely as per instructions. With a metal J-pipe, it specifies wrapping the metal pipe-to-plastic ball connector / filter joint with Teflon plumbers tape. This was done and hand-tightened first and then wrench tightened another 1/4-to-1/2 turn as specified. Now, that joint is enveloped in a two sided, screw together plastic connector - one side of which is the hose attachment mechanism and the other side is the screw threaded side.
It leaks at that enveloping joint. I checked the tightness of the connector and it is hand tight but not over tightened. The plastic casting is not good. This is not as good a quality product as the old unit.

Best of All worlds
Bought this after having about 3 of the Vortex Nickel Showerhead by Oxygenics and I absolutely LOVE this one far more. I would NOT recommend the Vortex Nickel Showerhead by Oxygenics. First one broke right out of the box, second didnt even make it to Installation, and 3rd worked but at what seemed to be at very low water flow. In time the wing nut broke off during adjusting, then clogged up and water flow was lower than ever. The Waterpik was cheaper and overall a better showering sensation. High water flow with the option to select your water flow personal preference...High, Med, and Low. Installation was simple as pie and WAY better then any of the Showerheads by Oxygenics that ive tried!

It was great for a mon or two
My wife informed me this morning that something was wrong with our shower head. I took a look and found water spraying out from a hairline crack in the bracket that holds the handheld shower unit. Apparently, the stress of holding the handheld shower head was too much and caused the bracket to crack. This shouldn't happen. I will be returning this unit today.
