Calphalon® Contemporary Stainless Steel 8-Quart Multi-Pot
This pot is amazing!
This pot is the best, it does take awhile to boil, but that's just because the pot is so thick. It cooks pasta amazingly, we haven't used it to steam anything yet, but I have full confidence that it will steam veggies beautifully.

Love this pot
This pot has been great, and we've made so much use of it! The steamer is an especially handy tool in the season of fresh veggies! I love working with this pot, the only downside is the difficulty of getting that bright, shiny, new look with each cleaning. it just hasn't happened. It lost its shininess after the first use and that hasn't come back.

I love it!
It's so convenient. I love cooking with this pot. Steaming vegetables is so easy and draining pasta is so simple. It is a great Calphalon pot. This was the first pot I received for a wedding gift and when I didn't have any thing else it was a life saver!

three uses in one
I purchased the multi-pot to replace a pasta pot; having it as a steamer was a plus. As stated in other reviews, the sides of the multi-pot seemed rather thin and after first use, there was discoloration on the inside bottom of the pot. On closer inspection, the discoloration seemed to be residue from the manufacturing process. After scrubbing the bottom with a Scotch-Brite pad, the discoloration was gone. I think this is something Calphalon should look into. Don't really want to think about whatever it was that I scrubbed off getting into my food. Due to the thinness of the pot sides, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any copper sandwiched between the stainless steel as commented on in one of the other reviews. I do like the sturdy feel of the see-through cover.

I received this product as a wedding present and have used it quite frequently. It's lightweight and easy to use. I love using it for pasta due to the built-in strainer. It saves me from having to use and wash a separate strainer set, as well as from having to tilt a heavy pot full of steaming hot water. It takes a bit of time for the water to boil, and it's a little hard to store since it's pretty tall and I have limited cabinet space, but I just keep it on top of the stove so it's readily available when I need it!

This pot was given to me as a gift and it has become a favorite addition to my Calphalon products. It is so versatile, use as a steamer with the smaller colander, the larger one is great for spaghetti, the pot alone is wonderful for soups, and stews. It's just a great pot and dishwasher safe!

not the best
This set should not be part of the Contemporary series as it isn't triply as the rest of the line. Unlike the regular 8qt Contemporary stock pot that uses thick metal walls this stock pot is made of thin metal that rusted on first use.
The only positive side I can say is that the pot, steamer and pasta bowl doesn't mess with the food flavor as a lot of other (mainly cheap) stainless steel on the market.

Happy with my Multi Pot
I use this set in my Kosher kitchen as one of my meat pots. It was great at holiday time for chicken soup and matzah balls for a medium size crowd.
For every day we use it for pasta, and the strainer is super handy.
Everything is easy to clean, and I'm very happy so far.
One downside however, would be the lid which moves up and down a bit when things are boiling.
