The only reason to purchase this mug is if you own the matching KitchenAid Coffee Maker. I tried to purchase other name brand coffee mugs with lids, but none of them fit. Most were too tall even with the lid off. This KitchenAid mug is intentionally shorter than most in the 18 ounce range and wider. It also has a unique 'inlet hole' in the center of the lid that matches where the coffee flows from the coffee maker. You won't find that on other mugs. The hole allows you to keep the lid on and sipping hole closed during and after the brewing coffee flows into the mug, which helps keep the coffee warm.
The quality is OK. Despite the stainless steel trim on the exterior, the mug is plastic on the inside. Waiting to see how the thin sealing rings that keep the lid on by friction last over time.
Because this mug is over-priced at $25, I was able to obtain a worth-while deal by purchasing a $25 Bed Bath and Beyond gift card from Discover for $20 using reward dollars in my account. Actually, I did this for two mugs and received free shipping.

Great Thermal Mug
This mug is multifunctional. You can brew your coffee in it if you have the KitchenAid Personal Brewer and then drink from it, it keeps your coffee hot for several hours. We received the black one with our brewer and I bought the red and brown so that each of us would have our own color.

great coffee thermos
This goes with the kitchen aid coffee maker, which is a great personal coffee maker.
This mug keeps your coffee hot, holds a full 18 oz of coffee. you can use it at home or on the go. you can drink right from the mug or pour the coffee into your favorite cup. Either way, you get a piping hot mug of coffee. It keeps the coffee hot for a long time.
I do not know why the other reviewer gave this such a bad review, but they are wrong. I have been using mine for about a month now and I have no complaints, about this mug or about the coffee maker it goes with.

the only good thing about this mug is that it fits the Kitchen Aid coffee maker.
It is not stainless steel and vacuum insulated, which is what you need to keep the coffee warm. So the coffee, instead, gets cold quickly and you cannot hold the mug because it is so hot.
Even if you close the lid, coffee still pours out if you tip it over.
Real P.O.S. just like the Kitchen Aid coffee maker, which I also reviewed.

This cup came with my coffee maker. I was a bit skeptical that I would like it so much at first, but the size, design and mouthpiece are just right. The lid stays on well enough, and the cap has a sliding closure option which works quite well. The lid has popped off on occasion while the cup was in my tote, but for the most part it stays on OK. I would prefer that the inside be stainless instead of plastic, and that the lid screwed on, but it is so perfect otherwise, that I am happy to keep the
5 stars instead of deducting for these shortcomings.
