Cuisinart® Grind & Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffee Maker
I really wanted a coffee maker that would grind beans as well, so i decided on this model. This coffee maker grinds the beans so finely & makes stronger coffee (which i love). My negatives about this product are that set-up takes a little while (changing out filter, adding coffee beans, filling water reservoir). When filling water, the pitcher tends to drip if you pour too fast. Also, the grinding cup gets wet from steam & you have to rinse/wipe out every time you grind coffee.

All the bells and whistles
This coffee pot makes coffee. It also does not burn coffee on the warming plate, because the warming plate only serves to "prime" the thermal carafe coffee receptacle. It finished making the coffee in record time and beeped at me to wake me out of my pre-caffeinated morning haze. The coffee stayed warm, but not burned, for at least 4 HOURS after it was brewed. Fantastic. AND there were no coffee grounds in the pot. I have yet to try the "grind" feature on this thing, but I'm a cheapskate and don't want to buy new whole beans until all my cheap, pre-ground coffee that delivers my daily dose of caffeine is used up. All of the pieces of the machine easily remove for dishwasher cleaning, if you're the kind of person who runs your dishwasher more frequently than you make pots of coffee (who ARE you?) and the quality of the coffee comes out better due to the replaceable filter for the water. Looks great on my device-cluttered countertop, too. So shiny. My only criticism: the carafe kind of scraped my wrist as I vigorously attempted to wash with my sponge. I must invest in a sponge on a stick for such cleanings in the future.

Worst coffee maker
Trust me, do NOT buy this coffee maker. About half of the time it floods all over the counter even when the coffee was prepared correctly. I would never recommend this coffee maker to anyone.

Problems with this since the beginning. First, it would overflow coffee if I was making more than 5-6 cups. I could live with that since I usually make 4 or less. Next the On/Off button wouldn't engage so I could start brewing instantly, but if I programmed it, it would start on its own. Now the clock won't budge from 18:88, so I can't see what time it has or set it to program. When I have called Cuisinart, they won't tell me where to get it fixed, but just how to buy a new one.

Overflow for no reason
While this pot comes with a grinder, if you use it, you have to clean up a muddy mess because of the steam that backflows into the coffee grounds. On top of that, if you don't have the pot set in "just so" it will brew and flow all over the counter. We finally made a rule in the office that if you create the flood, you clean it up. The lid to the pot is extremely difficult to open. I have to use a paper towel for added grip. Last of all, there are far too many pieces to put together every time coffee is made. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

I complained about coffee spills all over the counter in a previous review, and have read similar complaints in other websites. Since I like this coffee maker a lot -- I have been using it for many years -- I was ready to buy another one, but then I had an idea that solved the problem: Soak the lid of the coffee pot overnight, rinse it well, and the spills will stop. In my opinion, this is an excellent coffee maker, and I will definitely continue to use it.

Just say No....
Even though I asked him not to, Hubby went out and bought a coffee maker with the built in grinder. I had a separate grinder before hand which worked perfectly.
Cons on this machine: Not hot enough. The lid is hard to twist off the carafe and you have to clean this everyday as the container where coffee is ground has to be cleaned thoroughly. If you don' t mind cleaning your coffee machine after every use, then no biggy. It's also hard to get the last cup out without taking the lid off. But the best part is, NOW it's leaking from the bottom of the carafe and the bottom of the machine. Getting a new coffee maker this weekend. I'm not sending my husband and I'm not getting another one of these.

I have been a customer for many years, starting in Kent, Ohio, where I used to live, and I have had several of these coffee makers over the years. Something eventually goes wrong with the drip system. In time, when brewing, coffee starts spilling all over the counter. Yesterday I washed the machine with vinegar and it worked fine. This morning I had another spill. Otherwise, this is an excellent machine. I may well buy yet another one, and simply hope for the best.
