Espressione Professional Conical Burr Coffee Grinder
powerful grinder; easy to use
I have had this for a week and used at least 5 times. So far, so good. The motor is powerful, so it grinds FAST. It is noisy, though; sounds almost like a jet plane getting ready to take off. Luckily, our cats don't care. "Footprint" on counter is smaller than some other burr grinders. It is difficult to see the very light markings for the fine to coarse grind; but now that I have found correct setting, it isn't a problem, since I don't need to change it. The cup into which the ground coffee goes has a small enough diameter so that it pours into coffee cone filter without making a mess. #With Cuisinart's large cup, I needed to pour through a canning funnel.# There is static, but no more than with prior Capresso or Cuisinart plastic cups. I use a small brush to brush the remaining grounds into the paper filter. I measure my beans each time, rather than relying on the timer to determine the amount of beans that is ground. Seven rounded coffee scoops #2 TBS each# almost fills up the cup when ground. What I don't know yet is whether this grinder will clog and need to be cleaned, and if it does, how difficult that will be. That was the problem with the Capresso model. I also don't know how long this will last, with almost daily use. Capresso died and Cuisinart broke right around one year.

Step Up from Previous Coffee Grinder
I previously had a Mr. Coffee burr grinder. The bowl part of it separated from the plastic piece. It can probably be fixed, but I decided to get a conical burr grinder instead. The Espressione seems very smooth and substantial. I like the ease with which it handles the coffee beans. I would recommend this grinder, but wish it were a little less expensive.

GREAT ESPRESSO EVERY TIME!
I did major research on coffee grinders and I am so glad I did. Burr grinders got rave reviews and I found just the thing at BED BATH and BEYOND! This Espressione grinder makes a perfect espresso to make my delicious cappuccino!

Just two years life
I bought this product two years ago and for the price I believe it should it work longer. I make my coffee fine and have to clean the coffee container every time i grind or it will not grind as much. Coffee beans get stuck and you have to turn the beans yourself. Finally the life of it gone. Wont buy the same again

Liking So Far
With limited time to use, the best rating I can give is 4 stars. Give me a few months and it may be a five.
This grinder is a big upgrade from my previous Cuisinart, & didn't cost much more with a coupon . It is quieter, gives a very consistent grind, and isn't messy when removing the ground coffee, all of which were problematic with my previous grinder. Wish it was a bit easier to grasp the cup (arthritis) that holds the ground coffee...perhaps a couple of indentations for you fingers. After examining the grinder, I'm expecting it will be easier to clean than my previous grinder.
The Espressione has a nice 2 year warranty, and doesn't have a bigger footprint on the counter top than the Cuisinart...just taller.

Great product at a great price
If you do the research as I did, you will find that conical burr grinders are the best for coffee. This type of grinder produces the most consistently even grind which is especially important for today's expresso or single cup brewers.
I looked long and hard for a good conical burr grinder and found several that I liked, but the only problem was they were fairly expensive. This unit was one of the most reasonably priced I found, and with the BB&B 20% off coupon it made it hard to pass up.
I have been using the grinder for about a week, and it have to say that I am very pleased. As expected the grinding is exceptionally even.
I primarily use it to fill reusable capsules for my Nesspresso system. This requires a fairly fine grind that is just between Expresso and Turkish. This grinder manages it perfectly. I set the grinder to the 1st fine grind setting and it is exactly what is needed. Since the capsules are fairly small, I find that setting the amount to about 1.5 servings less then the amount of capsules I need to fill and it is about perfect.
Another great thing is that once you have the grain and quantity set, you can just press the start bottom and it will give you the exact same measurement every time. This is much nicer than having to always adjust the timer.
A nice touch is that the coffee exits out to the catcher from the top. This allows for less mess and more coffee in the container.
Although great, it is not perfect. The main thing is that the input bean hopper is rather small. It holds about 1/4 of a pound of beans. For my needs this is fine, but if you are using it for larger quantities of coffee, you will need to fill it more frequently. Also, it is fairly loud when it grinds. Not crazy loud like some blender grinders, but, you will not be stealth when you are making coffee.
The grinder also looks good. It is made of plastic, but all the key components are metal. I like the gray and black design that gives it a bit of an industrial look and fits into my kitchen next to the Nespresso system very nicely.
All in all, this is a great product for a very reasonable price, especially with he 20% off coupon. I highly recommend it.

-decent size bean container/holder.
-more control over fine/coarse grind
-not too messy
-grind fine/coarse marker on bean container is hard to see so I had to use a permanent maker and mark the side (both sides since it can go on two ways). But not a big deal.
Other: I haven't had it but a few weeks and don't grind all the time but seems sturdy/dependable. I'm also not a coffee connoisseur so am probably overlooking the fine points of coffee and grinding.
