Fagor Rapid Express 6-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
Cooks really fast.
It was a choice between a slow cooker and a pressure cooker and I decided on the pressure cooker because I didn't want everything that I made to be a stew. So far I'm liking it; it cooks really fast and cleans up well, although it did burn easily when I browned some meat. Still in the infant stage; I found a recipe for a cheesecake. Think I'll give it a try.

So easy to open and close.
I have had a number of cookers, but I am very happy with my new Fagor. I have used it a number of times in the past two weeks and am so impressed with the meals it has provided us with ease.

I love my pressure cooker
This is an amazing cooker. It is far removed from my old aluminum pressure cooker that I had for years. I highly recommend the Fagor. My only negative comment is that the instructions are absolutely terrible. If you are new to cooking with a pressure cooker, you need someone to help you out the first few times.

What a great cooker
This is the best pressure cooker I have ever used. It's nice to know that the cooker won't explode. I highly recommend this cooker.

not old fashioned
This pressure cooker can do what Momma used to do, with less of the fuss. Cooks with so much less time, and keeps in the moisture.

Fagor Rapid Express Pressure Cooker
I ordered this in the store because they didn't have the right size in stock. I was amazed when it arrived on my doorstep 2 days later. I immediately bought the items needed to make a beef stew. There were no recipes or directions for beef stew in the enclosed recipe booklet so I used the recipe from my 40 year old Presto PC. The results were delicious, the clean-up was fast and I was delighted. My only complaint would be to offer more recipes for common items in the enclosed booklet. No complaints on the cooker itself. So far it has functioned excellently.

Fastest cooking ever-LOVE IT!
I purchased this Fagor pressure cooker and have not used a pressure cooker since my mother had one in the 60's - 70's and have always been horrified of them since her pressure cooker had the old heavy top metal weight on it and it blew up with beans on the stove and all over the kitchen ceiling. I guess I never looked at how they have improved since then. I checked a lot of reviews on different pressure cookers, decided on this model, and I LOVE IT! I hardly use my other cooking pots at all. It takes so much effort out of making meals and I wish I had known how greatly improved they are made now. I use it every time I cook any meal. YOU will NOT regret purchasing this item. Don't know how I lived w/o one. Cuts out so much time in meal preparation! Using the 20@ off coupon, I have more than got my money's worth on this product!!!

Worst Pressure Cooker I've Ever Owned!
I bought the 8 qt Fagor Rapid Release stainless steel pressure cooker in April, 2013. I am not a novice at pressure cooking. I’ve been using pressure cookers since I was a newlywed in the early 1970’s when I received my first pressure cooker as a wedding gift. I have a 12 qt American Canning Co. pressure cooking I use for canning, and had been using a Presto 6 qt for the past 18 years and it worked fine, I just wanted a larger cooker for general cooking. The 8 qt Fagor cooker seemed to be perfect for my needs.
It worked great for the first 3 or 4 times and I was very happy. Then when I went to cook a roast, it wouldn’t build pressure enough to cook the roast in the recommend time and I ended up cooking the roast in the microwave (NOT the greatest way to cook a roast, but because of time constraints, I had no choice). The next day I contacted the company using their “Contact Us” form on the Fagor website. Within one day I received an email from a Fagor representative who listed the “Troubleshooting Tips” found in the user’s guide (which I had already followed). I replied to their email stating I had followed the troubleshooting tips and I suspected it might be a defective silicone gasket. The company was very prompt in sending me another gasket, but after replacement of the gasket, the cooker still did not build pressure. The yellow indicator popped up, but steam was leaking out of every vent in the handle and from underneath the lid.
I contacted the company again via their website and told them the new gasket was not the problem. They were very prompt in sending me a replacement upper handle and a link to Youtube instructions on how to replace it. I followed the Youtube instructions to the letter, but the next time I used the cooker, the yellow pressure indicator (the new one in the replacement handle) never came up and I had the usual problem of steam coming out everywhere and the pressure not building. Since I was cooking another roast, instead of using the microwave I got my reliable 18 year old Presto pressure cooker out of the attic and finished the roast in that. It cooked perfectly in the Presto!
Today I tried cooking raw vegetables in the Fagor cooker (giving it another chance to operate properly). Again the yellow pressure indicator failed to operate. Just to be safe, I wanted to use the rapid release feature to make sure any pressure was released. When I turned the knob to release the steam, no steam came out! The cooker did nothing more than steam the veggies to the “crisp” stage in plain old boiling water with no pressure at all. In my opinion this Fagor Rapid Release Pressure Cooker is nothing more than an overpriced cook pot! I once again contacted the Fagor company and asked if they would consider replacing this pressure cooker. I received an email from Fagor asking me to return the lid for “assessment and repair” (return at my own expense). So it looks like they will not replace my defective pressure cooker. I’m sorry but I cannot recommend this pressure cooker or the Fagor company. My next 8 qt pressure cooker will be a Presto! This Fagor Rapid Release pressure cooker was a major waste of money!
