SEVERAL MONTHS AND NO RUST ON METALS!
Luna is easy to clean because there are no seams on the kettle's rounded inside bottom to trap moisture. I am impressed after several months' use that the few stainless parts of this Luna kettle have stayed shiny and rust-free and that the enamel-over-steel construction is thick sturdy quality. The open handle and generous lid opening make it easy to fill. I am glad there is a round black plastic knob on the whistle because that is the only way to be able to touch it to open it into a stay-open position for pouring. I've seen other brands that don't cushion this type of metal pour spout like Luna does. Luna has a compact footprint for its 2-1/2 qt. capacity. The whistle is pleasant and not a piercing sound. My only minor drawbacks is that 1) there is no way this design can accommodate a remote ejector mechanism to open the pour spout, 2) the handle could be a little higher and thicker for comfort (like all stove-top kettles the handle gets a bit hot so a higher handle or rubber grip on the handle might be helpful, 3) can't fill kettle more than half because it's heavy when filled to its allowed maximum. In spite of the minor drawbacks, this kettle has surpassed my personal expectations for quality and durability.
