Pretty poor quality all around.
I found a number of issues with this item, such that I can't chalk it up to a single random defect.
First, the length claims 28"-48", but be warned that if you plan to use it on anything wider than about 40", it will sag horribly in the middle. How hard would it have been to make either make the rod diameters more congruent, or put a plastic sleeve on the bigger one to ensure a better fit and more stable line?
Second, the included hardware is terrible- this may seem like a small thing, but the plastic screw anchors have slag on the tips. If you don't think to clean them up and remove this before installing them, the screws will bottom out in the anchors with about 1/2" of thread remaining. Then, you'll just be turning a conjoined screw and anchor, getting no closer to driving it into the wall as little puffs of drywall dust mock your anger. If you use an electric screwdriver, watch the screws for stripping, too.
Lastly, the finials are still a bit wobbly once you screw them in.
Overall, $30 is far too much for something of this quality. These kinds of things are a big enough pain to install as it is, without shoddy hardware and saggy results. Luckily for BB&B, by the time I realized all of these issues, I was halfway through the install so it would be more trouble for me to return them than it's worth.
