Made WHERE???
I purchased this knife in a BB&B store. I had been in the market for a small everyday serrated knife that was reliable and versatile. I saw a display of Henkel's brand knives and right away decided to look at them. Most of the Henkel's knives are pricier but, being on a retiree's budget, I thought, how bad can it be...afterall, a quality German brand such as Henkel's would likely be a knife to last the rest of my life if cared for properly. I brought the knife home and could not wait to try it out, but decided to read the material on the packaging first...and...could it be? The iconic German Henkel's brand knife is made WHERE? Let's just say, NOT Germany or anywhere nearby. You can guess. Not only that, the quality knife I thought I'd purchased, I noticed had little rust spots on the blade after only a few uses. Even though the nearest store is 45 minutes away and an inconvenience, I am considering returning. I'm so annoyed!

Top Edge Cuts Too
I bought this knife as a test case before investing more on a complete set. While the knife is sharp (and the sharpest that I own), I was disappointed on my first use. I was cutting up pickles for tuna salad and had my forefinger pressing down on the top edge as I chopped. I felt a sharpness but didn't think much about it. When I was done chopping, I looked at my finger and it was beginning to bleed. It's been over a week and the wound has not completely heeled yet to give you an idea of how deep it cut. Mind you, this is the TOP edge of the knife, not the cutting edge. If I still had my receipt I'd exchange it. I can't see how it was intended this way, so I think it's just bad workmanship. For sharpness, it works well on tomatoes and everything else I've used it for, but darn if it doesn't cut you if you're not careful. I'll definitely try a knife from a different set (maybe classic) the next time I buy a knife, or try a different brand.
