La Sonic® Jewelry Cleaner
Not worth your time and money.
This has no "sonic" or ultrasonic" power. It simply mildly swirls the water plus cleaning fluid around the jewelry pieces. You still need to use a brush to clean any areas where dirt collects and wipe off residues from metal surfaces. You will get the same amount of success from the container of jewelry cleaning liquid you can buy at the grocery story.

Not worth it
I agree with several consumers. Even tho I dont think it was cheap. Yes, made cheap. My machine also broke when the bottom part that "vibrates" cracked. I did not know about having to empty each time and if I did I certainly would not have purchased this model. I am looking for another one but certainly will not be this one. Think I am going with a different name brand.

Don't even think about it!
There is not a "no stars" option so it got 1! This is a very cheap "soaking dish with a cord". Despite the clever LA Sonic name, do not confuse this with an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. You can get the very same results with a coffee mug filled with Windex set on top of your washing machine! It has a small vibrator device that vibrates the little cheap plastic cups at 60Hz instead of 40,000 Hz like an ultrasonic cleaner. I placed a dirty watchband in it and after 3 minutes the solution wasn't even the slightest bit dirty. Don't waste your money! It's going back immediately!

la sonic jewelry cleaner
BUYER BEWARE! This product is cheap and broke within a few months .. the bottom pedestals are made of plastic and dried out and crumbled from vibrations I am assuming .. I had to tape them up and that worked for a while but eventually didn't work at all .. now its a container to store nail brushes... 30.00 well spent! NOT!!

So, for the record: The reviews below that complain about liquid leaking obviously didn't read the directions.
This little cleaner is awesome. You can buy the cleaning concentrate on Amazon for about $8 per bottle; a bottle will last you 10-12 cleanings, depending on how much you use. Per the directions, you must empty the solution out when you are done using the device, otherwise it will leak! This isn't the kind of cleaner that is meant to hold liquid indefinitely; only when you are actively using it.
The cleaner is small enough that I can easily store it, but large enough to accomodate a large broach. I didn't find that the trays were hard to remove but it was easy to figure out that you have to push down while twisting (a little like a child-proof medicine cap).
I put this on my bridal registry and it easily has been one of the best gifts thus far. Highly recommended!

You can't afford not to buy this!
I was a little skeptical after reading the mixed reviews. I bought this yesterday, and I love it so much, I'm running out of jewelry to clean! I had no issues with leakage at all. And yes, it is plastic. I don't know if it will last forever. But I don't see why not if it's treated with care.
My fine jewelry and my costume jewelry look fantastic. The instructions say clean for a minute or two, but you'll need longer for some things, expecially with multiple stone and facets, and things that haven't been cleaned in a while.
Botton line...if you love jewelry, you need this machine.

Worth every penny
I was scared when I opened it because it looked cheap, but it does clean my diamond ring very well. Someone had said that the compartments are hard to unlock. They are but I found that if I push the trays down a little bit it becomes a lot easier. Also, I did notice that some water does spille, but not a lot like another reviewer mentions. Just don't over fill the tanks passed the line. That was my problem. The ONLY reason why I didn't give it 5 out of 5 stars is because the tanks are a bit difficult to take off but that's it. Enjoy your clean jewlery...I did!

Cheap Waste of Money
I bought this for my wife in the hopes that she would use it to keep the expensive rings I bought her clean. She tried it out exactly as the directions said and it didn't work at all. I can't swear that her rings didn't look WORSE after trying to clean them. "You get what you pay for," and we paid very little. She'll just have to go by the jewelry store every once in a while to have her rings properly and professionally cleaned. Terrible product.
