Not black but unique
I liked that this candle set was very modern and am planning to put it in front of our gas fireplace and use battery powered tapered candles for safety. One of the "spears" isn't as magnetic as I think it should be. But please note that it is NOT black. It's more a chocolate brown. I'm in the process of a black spray painting experiment that I hope will work or else I've just wasted a bunch of money. Keeping my fingers crossed as the design is unique.
