Don't buy it
It worked for a few times and then fell apart.
They used a metal threaded rod in the center of the screen assembly and a plastic threaded nut to keep it all together.
Those two materials are not compatible for each other when it needs to endure the stress of plunging the screen assembly over and over. That is the whole purpose of this part.
It does not take long before the plastic threads strips .
I had to go out and get stainless steel nuts and spacers to make it work, which it now does as charm.
This is a very common mistake by manufacturers in an attempts to save money.
Also, the lid leaks when it pours. The plastic lid and glass contact creates a capillary action causing the coffee to dribble down the front when pouring. Especially when it is the hottest and the fullest.
I need to remember to lift the lid slightly to break this contact. This problem also happens on most other brands of coffee pots that have a plastic lid.
Their decision to build it this way has convinced me to avoid all their products. Mr Coffee used to be a quality product.
This one is not.

Works great!
We love our pressed coffee and we have a habit of going through carafes like crazy. We used to purchase the expensive carafes but have found they all taste them same. This Mr. Coffee press has held up great so far and is very easy to clean, and can't beat the price. Will definitely purchase again!!

A New Coffee Taste
I've been drinking coffee for more years than I can remember and when my last coffee pot broke down, I decided to try a French Press. I had heard good things about them and discovered it all to be true. BB&Beyond carried the size I wanted, I ordered it, and have been happy ever since. The coffee is full bodied and never bitter. I wish I had done this years ago.

Does the job.
We only drink french press coffee and have had cheaper ones and more expensive ones. The coffee taste's the same in all of them and the glass breaks in all of them eventually. I liked this one because of the price and have owned it over a month. Whats good about this one, is the rubber bottom that can be removed to sit the pot on a warming burner.
