Not blackout curtains
Got these for my 11 month old to make her room darker. She's got horizontal blinds that don't block the afternoon sun. With these curtains on top of the blinds, the room glows. The room is now a warm rosy pink color at naptime. They are definitely not black out curtains. Fortunately, she can still sleep and they look better than the blanket we had over the window before.

Exactly what I needed
When we moved to our new house we didn't have curtains for the kids' room. I searched high and low for the right colors in a curtain that actually blocks light. These fit the bill. Also, I washed them before use, per the instructions, and they held up just fine with no shrinkage.

room darkening but not blackout / 1 panel per pkg.
These are really pretty curtains. I love the color (hot pink). However, I was expecting them to be "blackout" curtains, as the name on the website suggests. They are NOT blackout curtains, They ARE room darkening curtains. In fact that's what the curtain packaging says ("room darkening"). The website mischaracterizes them as blackout, which is not the same thing. They will not block out all light. However, they do afford complete privacy and they do block out much of the outside light. However, if you want total darkness in your room during daylight, these are not the curtains for you unless you have a good shade or blind behind them. By themselves, they won't do it. That said, I did keep them. In fact, I had to order more because they only come ONE PANEL TO A PACKAGE. They are not packaged in pairs. I didn't realize this, so I had to pay a second shipping charge to complete the set.
