I really love the look and feel of this kettle. If you are somebody who doesn't want to hear your kettle scream, then get this. I forgot I was boiling water, and I accidentally left the heat on too long. The top fell apart and the red enamel fell off. Totally my fault, but will never buy a quiet kettle again.

Pretty workhorse!
I saw the other review and thought I should add mine.
I have had this kettle longer than I can remember. More than 3 years, but probably less than 5.
We use it daily (often multiple times) to make coffee in our french press, and have 4 kids who use it for tea, hot chocolate, etc. It gets a lot of use, year round and has been nothing but great.
I even run it in the dishwasher a few times a year and it has stood the test of time. The enamel has held up well, as has the stainless steel & plastic.
I love the ease of lifting the handle to remove the whistle & pour. (the whistle is key for me. Before this kettle, I boiled a couple pots dry)

It's fair - not average
With occasional use, it served it's purpose. My wife and I use this kettle once a month during the spring and summer; twice a month during the fall, and 6 times a month during the winter. Then after 3 years, the handle broke away from the cover. The cover then broke into two pieces. It's now no better than boiling water in a pot.
