Each earthenware piece features individual interpretations of the pattern motifs, including coffee brown trim and a rich copper band with a flowing black vine that evokes classical pottery design. Terrible Dishes BEWARE!!!!
The best thing about these dishes are their pattern, other then that they are terrible. We recieved the whole set and a second set for our wedding. We loved the pattern on them and my mother has 3 different sets of Pfaltzgraff dishes (spring, fall, christmas) that she has had for years. Never had an issue, with them. So i felt confident in purchasing Pfaltzgraff. Well they have been nothing put a pain since we received them. We got them in August 2012 & every plate & bowl has chips all over them and it hasn't been 6 months since we opened the box. They get super hot in the mircrowave much more then average dishes. And mugs seem to get stains in them.
My sister in law has the same exact set and she has the same problems with them as we do. Some of her dishes have cracked in the microwave and broke completely in half. So my suggestion to anyone looking at this pattern is don't waste your money, after 3 months they'll look terrible. And you'll lose some of the set because of awful cracking.

Beware - you will burn your fingers
My husband and I loved this pattern so we bought everything. I did research prior and didn't come across anything negative. Well, not I'm contributing to help purchasers. BEWARE! These dishes will burn your fingers when taking them out of the microwave. Like the other reviewer commented, the plates come out hotter than the food and I'm only talking about 3 minutes in the microwave. Not only that, but we already have 6 chipped dinner/salad plates within the first 6 months. We've only had them a year now and are looking for another set of dishes. Waste of money.

Very Nice
The only negative thing I can say about these plates is that when you microwave them they get hotter than the food. Other than that We LOVE THEM.
