Progressive® Salad Spinner
great product amazing price
I've used salad spinners many times in the past but have never owned one. I chose this model and was surprised it was only $10! Wow! What a value!

I used this product one time and now the spin mechanism does not work.

You get what you pay for
I had one for about a year, then the pull mechanism quit and the basket wouldn't turn. Bought another one because of price and availability. This one lasted 1 month, so I took it apart. The engagement mechanism was mangled. It's simply cheap. This design is built to sell, not longevity.
Both clear plastic buckets developed small cracks.
These were both used regularly, but not abused.

Cord Frayed quickly
Worked well for 1 year, however the cord frayed and is now completely broken. Perfect example of planned obsolescence. This company has good ideas, but poor quality.

Another string issue
Same as other reviewers in that after only a couple of dozen uses the pull cord frayed rendering it useless. Too bad because other than that we liked the ease of use and cleanup factors.

The spinner has an attractive price but that pull string will eventually fray and break! I only used it a couple of times and the pull string frayed, got stuck inside and got thinner and thinner as I was using it. Make the investment into a pump handle or push handle.

This is a good tool for the money, with nothing comparable at this price. It holds a large amount and the gearing spins well at a high enough speed to remove excess water. The slats are close enough to use it for bean sprouts! I have owned two so far. The first was broken by excessive pulling on the string by an enthusiastic kitchen assistant. The replacement is working fine and has been since purchased a year ago. I will be buying another for Passover use, since this so helpful. A good salad is a dieter's best friend, and I encourage all to feed your family healthy!

serves its purpose
i've had this spinner for roughly 9 months, and it works pretty good for me on a regular basis. i haven't had any issues with the pull-string handle, but after using it once or twice (seriously), the plastic bowl cracked in a couple of places on the bottom seam. i hand wash it and don't ever fill it with water (it wouldn't hold w/ the cracks), so it's not really a problem. even with that, i'm pretty happy with it. it's way more handy than washing/drying salads by hand ever was. i will probably get a dif. brand next time though.
