Bad Substitute
I have been buying BB&B plain white cotton bar mop towels for at least 15 years and have given dozens of packages as gifts because they were so wonderful. Thick, thirsty, soft, inexpensive enough to discard after they get too stained to revive - but the last ones I bought about 2 weeks ago are terrible. I checked the stock # and it is the same as it has always been, but the new 'version' of this old standby is a flimsy, slick piece of junk that won't survive longer than a month. The terry strips that were so fluffy and nice in the previous ones are just a slightly raised strip of something - not good terry. I now have to shop around with other stores to find a new towel. I love using this type cloth in the kitchen, but I'm a serious cook and I don't use inferior tools. Oh, yeah, I'm going to return these just as soon as I have the chance.
