Rowenta 1400-Watt Pro Compact Steamer
Quickly Breaks Down!
Do not buy this product! This product has quality issues and will break down fairly quickly. I had used this product for less than 6 months when it stopped producing steam. There's an issue with the way it functions and tends to get hard water build up.

Wouldn't recommend it
I wouldn't go with this one. I bought this steamer about 2 years ago, and it worked pretty well for about 5 months, but has been nothing but frustration since then. It still technically works - but a 20 minute job takes 40. It heats up fairly quickly, but as soon as you start moving the hose to steam, it starts to sputter, and then just ---stops....and then I have to hang the hose back up, and wait about a minute for the steam to start flowing again. Then I'll get about one shirt done, and it stops again. This continues for the entire time. I agree with previous reviewers, don't buy it - there have to be better options to spend your money on!

I used several times and the on/off switch stopped engaging. Customer Service at Rowenta said to buy another one. I am tired if shoddy appliances that are being produced now.

Rowenta used to mean quality - what happened?
This item is worthless. It takes a very long time to begin to steam. Within 10 seconds it stops, sputters and makes you wait another two minutes. It repeats this behavior with varying times of output but measured in seconds not minutes . There is no continuous steam when needed. This is either a seriously defective unit or it is poorly designed. I suggest you read other reviews and then make your mind up. I can't recommend this unit. Sorry Rowenta, you've lost that lovin feeling.

Less than Average
I wish I didn't buy it before the price cut in half.
At first there wasn't a mildew smell now there is...
plus the steam takes forever to warm up and it will shoot out for a minute then goes away and takes forever again to shoot out steam!
But it eventually will steam for about 8 minutes so if your fast you can get some things clean.

Best little steamer.
This steamer works better than the Conair, more expensive steamer. Also having the hook on the door is higher for steamming and better on your back. The larger steamers with the telescope hanger are too low and you are bent over trying to steam the bottom of your shirt.
I just bought another one of these. My other one lasted 4 years and I never cleaned it out, and sometimes I turned it on and forgot about it and all the water steamed out and it got hot. It still lasted 4 years and I used it every week. It has more steam to get the wrinkles out faster than the Conair one. To get the same type of steam on the Conair steamer you have to keep pressing down the burst of steam and it still doesn't work as good as this one. I bought one
for my sister since I loved mine so much.

I got this for a gift and was so excited. It's fast to heat up but it only emits steam for about 10 seconds and takes another 30 seconds to emit steam again. It's very aggravating and time consuming! I am returning it!

Excellent Performance - Unconventional Use
Rather than pay $100+ to have deteriorated window tint removed from a 1996 vehicle, I purchased the Rowenta Compact Steamer. Removed the window tint in less than a half hour - no mess and did not waste time driving to a commecial tint shop. Plus, I have a compact, easy to use steamer for any future project - conventional or otherwise !
