Rowenta Pro Master Iron DW-8080
This powerful 1700-watt professional iron has a Microsteam stainless soleplate with a precision tip for advanced steam distribution. A long lasting burst of steam allows for efficient and easy steaming. The soft touch handle provides comfort and a non-slip grip, and soft touch buttons offer superior control. Vertical steam allows iron to be used in the upright position for drapes and hanging garments, while variable steam offers flexibility when ironing a variety of fabrics and thick layers at seams and waist bands. The anti-slip frame provides extra stability when iron is on its heel, and an anti-drip system prevents spitting and leaking when the thermostat is on a low temperature setting. An auto shut-off feature turns the iron off in eight minutes if vertical, 30 seconds if horizontal or tipped over. Iron also self cleans, removing loose mineral deposits and impurities to be flushed out. Extra large water tank holds 12.7-ounces. UL listed. Model #DW-8080.

CORD PROBLEMS I heard this was the best iron you could buy. I figured it would last many years. Worked great. until six months later it just shut off. It ended up being the power cord. Tried to get in touch with the Rowenta company and you can't even get in touch with them. May 8, 2013
A very satisfactory purchase! I ordered this iron this iron because of the quality, and the auto shut off feature. I am an avid seamstress, and an iron is an integral part of what I do. I would recommend it highly. April 18, 2013
great iron If you're having problems with spitting and leaking with this iron, change the water you've been using. I found that the tap water in my home is too hard for this iron. When I switched to the $1 per gallon jugs of spring water from the grocery store, the iron behaved much better. The manual says that you can also blend tap water with distilled water but I haven't tried that. I love this iron and I'm glad I figured out that the water was making it spit. The burst of steam is a great feature as is the narrow nose of the iron. This iron gets very hot though so I'd caution you to use a press cloth and the lowest heat needed for pressing. March 16, 2013
Questionable Like many others, I have faith in german engineering. I purchased a Rowenta Pro Master...it's german, it's expensive..translates to quality, right? Wrong. I have rountinely (every year) exchanged my various Rowentas for a new one since each one leaks brownish red water from it. I do everything according to the directions; I use bottled spring water (since my water is hard) and use the self-clean about once a month. All of my Rowentas, (including a Focus) shortly after I purchase it, have spit out a staining, brownish/red water from the unit. I called Rowenta and asked if it was possible that a part within the unit was rusting. They said it wasn't possible. I will finally bite the bullet (since now I will be without an iron!)and send it to Rowenta for them to be able to look at it. Returning my iron every year to BBB will never solve the problem. Rowenta needs to look into this problem. Very annoyed seeing the consistency in the same problem over and over and over....! I will seriously consider another brand. I'm sure that a less expenisve one will work just fine. March 10, 2013
