everyone is complaining that is is a a poor product because expires ect. says right on the bottle, expiration date, which is three years or more i notice and sayd DO NOT WASH WITH HOT WATER, AND NOT DISWASHER SAFE, EVEN TOP RACK. to me, this is common sense to follow these two simple directions and this bottle will and does last for years. I for one love it. thank you for a wonderful product.

This product must have slipped by without any QC
My family has purchased several of these "high-end" SodaStream bottles so far.
Two questions have come to mind so far after several days' use of them:
1. Why are they priced so expensively, considering the stainless steel bases ALL came off after 3-4 *very* gentle uses and hand washing?
2. If SodaStream is so passionately concerned with a smaller carbon footprint of this, that and whatever... when will they begin to concern themselves with the sustainability of the products for which they charge so dear a price?????
I wonder how silly we look to them, and how hard they laugh at us while we support their products.
I expected better, especially at these prices.
Far, far better.
Shame on you SodaStream.
Quality of products and "green" sustainability are NOT mutually exclusive!

stainless steel bottle
It broke after the first use. The bottom is only glued on and will come off just from wiping it down with a paper towel.

Don't use warm/hot water to clean it!
I found (through experiences) that the bottles - plastic or metal capped/bottomed, will last much longer if you use soap & cold water, as if you were camping. It doesn't sound like the most clean method of washing, but if you only use the bottles for soda, as intended, this should suffice as a way to clean the bottles. I have both kinds now and much prefer the metal bottles to the plastic. I learned the hard way by placing a plastic bottle in the top rack of the dishwasher...
