GOOD IDEA BUT POOR QUALITY
I purchased 3 sets of this device. Unfortunately, some receivers work only on very short distance (less then a foot !), some are good - and this is from the same transmitter.
The only one set (of 3) works OK. So, if you buy, you can count only on your luck.

Recommended with Reservation
I had bought one set in the store for Christmas decorations and loved it (Channel "A"). Then I ordered two more sets on line for various lamps, small appliances, etc. but the problem is that one of the 2nd sets is also Channel "A", a duplicate of the first one I bought. So now everything conflicts on those two units. I need a "Channel B" if that's available, but cannot order it that way on the website and they are sold out in the store. Otherwise, I love the remote capabilities and they work very well. I plan to order another unit from a different company and maker so that I can give my son the second "A" for his use.

great gadget-just buy one
this is such a great gadget! Bought it to use with Christmas tree lights and other decorations. Worked perfect did not have to reach behind tree to turn on lights. Decided to use all year with lamps throughout the house - nice to turn on lights without having to walk across a dark room. Ended up buying two more sets for family

Use it for Christmas for tree and decorations. Can't believe how good it works. Can press buttons in other part of house and it still works. GET ONE YOU WON'T BE SORRY - JUST READ DIRECTIONS GUYS!!
