I received this island as a gift about two years ago. First of all, whether you are handy or not, this thing is super difficult to put together. After I built it, the island was stationary and was moved on very few occasions. This past March while moving the island, two of the wheels broke off because the wood where the wheels were screwed in completely split up. The island did not even last two years!!!!!!!! Do not get it! It is a waste of money and time. If I could give zero stars I would!

Excellent Cabinet, need to get one for my mum
This cabinet was so easy to install. I had two friends come over to help and finally, I told them I would do it myself. Did it in 1 hr or thereabouts with no issues. I had all the parts and they fit perfectly.
I suggest that you build the doors first and go from the bottom up. The top should be the last part that you install. Its a little technical getting the last screws into the top and it requires a little bit of contortion to get it done. I did bump my head, so watch out when installing the top part.

Damaged Parts
4 pieces needed to build the Island were damaged. I had to contact the manufacturer. Could never get anyone on the phone. I got lucky and went on the website and ordered the parts. It took a while to receive them. What was supposed to be a surprise gift turned into an adventure. Many weeks later the replacement parts arrived. We do like the island.

Just what we wanted
Our new kitchen is large, but has very little counter space, and this island was just what we wanted! As other reviewers noted, it did take a while to assemble, but it wasn't especially difficult. Recommended!
