Beautiful set - but HUGE dinner plates
I was looking for an attractive, durable, every-day dinner set. I fell totally in love with Mikasa Swirl in white. It is a beautiful set - very pretty, lovely off-white color, feels sturdy, nice shapes in the mug and bowl. LOVE IT. I brought one place setting home to try it out, along with a handful of other brands / styles. No question - Mikasa Swirl was the winner. The dinner plate looked big, so my husband tested it in our kitchen cabinet to make sure it fits - and somewhow we thought it did fit. I ordered 8 place settings and 2 extra dinner plates and side plates. So, the set arrives and I'm so excited to get rid of the old stuff and install Swirl. I unpack the first box, stack it up in the cabinet and....... the doors won't close fully :( The dinner plate is about half an inch too big on the diameter. I am devastated - they have to go back. We also put it in the dishwasher to see if it would fit. We didn't actually do a wash, but it looked like the dinner plate would block the spinning spray arm. I'm giving this set 5 stars and a "Recommend" status because it's just wonderful. Please do make sure it fits your cabinets and your dishwasher before you buy lots of place settings though!
From what I've seen I don't think I will find anything that lives up to this set.... so so so so sad.

So fab!
Love these. Dishwasher safe, and the shiny part at the bottom does not scratch (I was a little worried about that). I registered for 6 of these, and 6 of the black, square shaped sets from the same line. This way I can do an every other type of table set up and create a really cool look.

Love the Swirl White Round setting!
My daughter and son-in-laws 2 place settings for Christmas will be a great present for them. They love these dishes and use them all the time for everyday and for fancy dinners. Great quality......

Wedding Gift
These dishes are great! They have both a casual feel or an elegant touch if dressed up the right way. So far everyone who has seen them absolutely loves them, because of the natural organic kind of look they have.
Just be careful with the cereal bowls.. the shape of them make them very easy to lose grip on, my husband was holding one in the palm of his hand and it slipped right out! Shattered all over our kitchen floor... I guess we'll be getting a new bowl.
