Vitamix® 1365 CIA Professional Series Ruby Blender
The bees knees
This thing is awesome. When we received it I immediately looked up recipes on the website to see what I could make with what I had on hand. I watched a video on how to make strawberry ice cream and it turned out perfectly. It's the craziest thing it can make ice cream by grinding up frozen things into a soft serve ice cream. Interested to see what else
I can grind up next

I love my Vitamix!
I absolutely love our Vitamix! I did a lot of research and reading a ton of reviews prior to purchasing our Vitamix. It is very expensive, but worth it! Have used it every day since we bought it two weeks ago. Now make all my own green machines and smoothies! I know exactly what goes into each item, and know that there are no preservatives or unknown ingredients. Friends and family enjoy the smoothies, too!! Well worth the price!

Live changing machine!
When I bought this machine, I had at the back of my mind the word "RETURN IF"... Of course for the high value, I was not going to wast time in returning if it did not do the job. As you can guess, I quickly erased the word return because this product met and exceeded my expectation. If quality is defined as "fit for use" then this product is a perfect example of quality. When bragging about this machine recently, someone told me to try Blentec and out of curiosity I got the Blentec but I returned it the very next day. If you really want to know the difference between Blentec and Vitamix, you should blend blueberries and or black berries!!! The difference is clear!! Blentec is no match to Vitamix! Many people have reviewed both products but they often blend bananas, strawberries, spinach, apples, etc. The true test lies in adding a handful of blueberries then you see who is the winner. Vitamix blends blueberries combination as creamy and smooth you will think it was banana - not kidding!
I decided to make the most out of vitamix to recover my money worth and I can tell you it is amazing. I have had it for about a year now and I have not had a reason to visit my doctor!! I make sure to make a green smoothie blend every morning and drink a cup full and what this had done to my health is immeasurable - my energy level has bumped up and my hair which was getting thinner is much thicker and longer! I attribute all these changes to the great work that this machine does in blending my smoothie so quick and easy and flawless! This was definitely a great buy. I can go on and on.

Honestly not anything special
We thought it would be a trade up when we exchanged our Ninja for this blender, with high expectations for the amount paid. No doubt some of the parts are very high quality - the motor and blade, for example. However, at the end of the day, this has the same basic design as conventional blenders, and really doesn't do anything special. For example, the blade has 4 prongs and sits at the very bottom, just like almost every other blender, so food has to drop all the way to the bottom before it can be blended. This means that, despite the higher power, it is very easy for a bubble to form over the blade so not everything is blended. For this reason, they include that plastic pusher thing, which seems really crude, and honestly doesn't work that well. Not exactly clever engineering. Also, a surprising shortcoming is the weak interface between motor and blade. Just gently rocking the pitcher while blending is enough to cause grinding at the motor spline. That is why I cannot give this 5 stars even on quality. The biggest selling point of this blender is the ease of cleaning. You can add soap and warm water and blend at high speed for most light-duty cleaning.
We returned to the store and got the top of the line Ninja, which is less than half the price. Much better design, that includes the bottom blade, and an optional tower/multi-blade for more consistent blending and chopping, plus the individual blender containers for smoothies and the like. The top of the line Ninja is Beyond the better value.

Best of the best
After years of watching demonstrations of this machine, I finally bought one just after Christmas. I was able to save 20% (100.00) so that gave me incentive to purchase it. The salesperson tried to talk me into buying a different blender but I'm so glad I wasn't swayed. The other blender had no tamper. The first time I used my vitamix it required a tamper! This machine is a workhorse. I thoroughly liquefied whole apples and carrots and there wasn't any grit. Wonderful! Being diabetic, I try to eat small meals throughout the day. I normally have an apple with low fat cottage cheese for my afternoon snack. I threw in quartered apples, core and seeds included, cottage cheese, water and ice into the pitcher. It made it into the best creamiest smoothie I have ever tasted. I even threw whole carrots into it and you would never have guessed they were in there. The Vitamix never slowed down or faltered one bit. Strong like a Mack truck. You will never go wrong with this machine. I even tried making soup. Worked like a charm. Love this unit!

Vitamix 5200 Blender
I had purchased two other blenders in the year prior to spending the money for a Vitamix. I found it difficult to justify THAT kind of money for a blender. Trust me, it is worth every penny. I have made shakes (diet and not so diet) with it, 2 per day practically every day for almost five years. This blender has done everything I have asked of it and gone beyond my expectations. Strawberry seeds are literally pulverized. Eggshells are blended so fine, you don't know they are in there even before you cook them. This is good for people that need calcium supplements, because I have heard the calcium in eggshells is easier to absorb than most other sources. Raspberry seeds are no match for this machine. Trust me when I tell you, this is everything it is claiming and more. If you put tap water in it and turn it on high... in about 4 minutes, you have boiling water (honestly). The friction of the blades in the water will heat the water to boiling. CLEANING is a breeze! Half full, turn it on medium and most of the time you are done. Add one drop of soap if needed.
It has a Thermal overload that helps protect the motor if it starts to draw too much current. Turn the switch to off, wait two or three minutes and when you turn the switch back on it will start again. Fail safe.
The switch on the right tuns the motor on and off. The rotary dial in the center is variable speed from low (lower than most blenders) to high (much faster than most blenders). The switch on the left is the Warp Drive switch. This boosts the 5200 to over 36,000 RPMs. Yes, 36,000 RPMs. No blender I know of comes close. This is an amazing machine, and you will not be disappointed. It will ruin you for all other inferior blenders!

Excellent and well worth the money
I purchased this Vita Mix to replace the Ninja Mega that I also reviewed. I brought it home, cleaned it, read how to use it and proceeded to make some strawberry ice cream. This worked perfectly and it didn't take but a few seconds to have creamy dreamy delicious strawberry ice cream with no sugar added. I am glad I purchased this in replacement of the Ninja, it does all it will and only requires one pitcher for all wet foods. I will be purchasing the dry blade and pitcher in the future. My husband did not care for the seeds from strawberries in the smoothies made in the Ninja single serve jars. I am sure he will be happy with the Vita Mix because he liked the ice cream and did not taste one seed, it literally pulverized them..
BBB is a great company and stand behind the products they sell, I am very thankful to them for accommodating me with my problem Ninja.
