Winthrop Toilet Bowl Brush
The same thing happened to me that happened to the other reviewers. The brush fell off the end of the stick as I was cleaning the bowl. In my case, however, I just threw the brush out. I had no desire to touch it and try to repair it like one of the other more industrious reviewers. I am now looking for a replacement. I won't be this one again. Not worth the price. For the price, they should build a sturdier brush and handle.

Miserable product - falls apart constantly
The only good thing about this product is the brush itself. The handle, lid, and stem down to the brush constantly come apart, and have to be re-assembled. I got some Locktight and put it in the threads which stopped it from un-screwing, then the plastic retainer inside the tube broke off with literally no force. I have attempted to weld this together using JB Weld, with results TBD. Anything is better than this pile of manure, and for a whole lot less money. I thought due to the price I was getting a premium product here. All I got was a high price, and the cheap stuff at your bottom dollar retailer is more durable.

Used less than two weeks and it comes apart at the brush head and the cover/lid. I have no idea how to make this thing stay together and the last thing I want to do is reassemble it every day. Bad reviews on here since 2011 - How is Bed Bath Beyond still selling this horiible produce (they won't let me use the word I need to use)!

DO NOT BUY
It is even worse than the other posters stated - I have lived with the rust spots on the lid and base for a while now, but we just recently moved to a new home and I wanted things to look nice. I checked around as to see if there are any products I could use to remove rust from brushed nickel. I decided to try soaking a cloth in white vinegar and letting it sit - when I returned the ENTIRE canister was rusted - not just a piece. So now I'm far worse off than I was - just from trying to fix the defect instead of returning it. Lesson learned - don't do it yourself take it back!!! Now I'm thinking spray paint?

Not worth the toilet it cleans
I wish I'd read the previous review before purchasing this piece of garbage. I also have noticed that the lid has begun to show rust marks. We bought this item in late September, and by early October, I was horrified to see brownish rust marks on the lid that also serves as the top of the brush handle. This is not a cheap toilet brush, and considering that we bought to match our stainless steel bathroom fixtures, it's been a disappointment and absolute waste of money. I've thought of returning it, but am embarrassed to do so with such a personal item. So, please read and learn from our bad experiences.

First of all, I would have returned this product within the first month of purchase had it not been a toilet brush. Upsetting as it may be,embarrassment alone has deterred me from getting my money back. Who wants to bring a used toilet brush in and make a complaint, right? Within the first week of purchase the product started to show signs of rust at the base, and permanent spotting on the top of the lid, which I believe might be due to our air freshner, but regardless, our bathroom is well ventilated and corroding shouldn't happen that easily. Obviously, the product is not stainless steel, because we have had no problems with other items nearby that are. In other words, stainless steel and plastic is the way to go regarding toilet bowl brushes, unless you want to keep replacing this guy every couple months. Pros: looks and black brush instead of white.
