I felt guilty for spending so much on a trashcan but was happy I did within the first week. The finish resists fingerprints of little ones, the lid is quiet, the pedal mechanism is sturdy and I especially like how snug the 13 gallon liners from our warehouse store fit. The inner trashcan stays clean because the liners don't slip off.

Best trashcan
This is my second motion sensitive trashcan. The first worked for many years, until someone dropped it on its head. This SimpleHuman can opens to almost 90 degrees, making it much easier to scrape dishes into the trash, and it stays open the entire time, instead of trying to close every few seconds. It also doesn't open every you walk by. It takes up more floor space than normal 13 gallon cans, and my old plastic bags won't fit, but the ease of use will more than make up for those inconveniences. In brief: I love this thing!
