Good Trash can, but somewhat misleading
This trash can is great, don't get me wrong. It's well built and I love the stainless steel outside. But what was a bit misleading to me what that it's listed as a 48 liter or 13 gal trash can. It is, but it also has two separate 30 liter or about 10 gallon trash cans that are inserts to the main trash container. So there is actually three trash cans in one. So it you thought (like I did) that it had two 13 gallon type trash cans inside it and that was it, you will be wrong. So overall, it's a great trash can. I would recommend it to anyone who wants the ability to have trash and recycling in one container.

Very practical and convenient
I have several Simplehuman products and love them. We were using grocery bags to collect the recyclables but they don't hold much and it takes up space on the counter. Even though this can is a bit pricey, it holds quite a bit, well worth the convenience of having one can to hold both and the steel bar step leaves your hands free. If you're a serious about recycling, I recommend this can. If not, it's a super big trash can!

Great cans
the versatility is great. It's like getting extra garbage cans. I use the 2 inserts in different parts of the house as stand alone trash/recycling and leave the large insert in as the main kitchen trash.

Looks and Works GREAT!
I never thought I was one of the people who will buy a $200+ trash can!!! But this trash can works perfect for my household of 2 with both the trash & recycler sections in the same container. Plus it has a bonus bigger bin if you just want to use 1 big bin instead of 2 smaller bins for the whole trash can. You can use standard tall trash bags for the 2 smaller bins.
I didn't give it a 5 stars because you have to slowly depress the bar step so the "soft closing" function works but that doesn't matter that much to me. It's still a good product and looks great in my kitchen!
