super machine ordered this espresso maker to replace my current one. It arrived within days of order that's fast!!! Good job bed bath and beyond. The Delonghi one touch cappuccino espresso machine is one of the finest machines i have used in my 66 years at least 45 years of espresso drinking and use of all types of machines. It makes excellent espresso, latte, and cappuccinos and when they say automatic the mean automatic. The volumes are indeed accurate the frothing leaves at least and inch and a half to two inch on your glass or mug. I have heard many people say that a pressure portafilter makes messy pucks while this is true in some cases depending on the grind and the tamp I use a smart grinder set at the 3rd to last finest setting and I tamp as if it were a single wall filter which I have acquired for this machine. The difference in the espresso and crema is so minimal it would be hard to tell the difference with the exception that the single wall does leave a messy puck. Whatever delonghi has placed into the making of this unit is unique also there is no wait time between steaming and pulling a shot. It has a stainless steal boiler for the espresso and a thermal block for steam and it gets hot. The above directions stating that all you had to do was place and already espresso under the portafilter and push the button for frothing is incorrect. This machine is totally automatic place your cup under the portafilter set the milk container for the ammount of froth you desire(pushed all the way in is for no froth, all the way out or anywhere in between for thick froth) and just push the cappuccino or latte button it will dispense the standard amount of froth i would recommend atleast an 8 and half or a 9 oz. cup would be preferred due to the amount of milk foam. Once the milk has been dispensed into your cup it will automatically dispense the espresso shot depending on if you used a single shot or double shot, FANTASTIC. It has a water filter it is programmable to desired amounts of volumes of water and the volume of milk and it is very easy to program even water hardness level. It has three temperature settings. Whatever problem the first review i believe was lack of experience and operator error. I have had no problems and i have nothing but good things to say about this machine i am very pleased to have it. It is beautiful compared to many higher priced machine and i believe its espresso making is comparable to many high end units! You can't go wrong with this machine you will love it I know i do. Amazing!! I just got this machine.... I LOVE IT!!! I completely disagree with the previous comment on this product. This machine delivers the perfect ratio of espresso to milk froth, comparable to high end restaurants even. My one complaint is I could not get the machine to work 1-2-3 without reading the instructions which I thought was frustrating at first, until I realized the instruction manual was about 1 page. The manual looked bigger than it was because it is in multiple languages. After the 3 minute set up I was up and running smoothly making excellent espressos and cappuccinos!! That said, in addition to the delicious results, this machine is visually stunning and has become a centerpiece in my kitchen and would be in the most upscale of kitchens out there. Enjoy! Not worth the price! Purchased this machine a few days ago and already returned it to the store. If you are just looking for an espresso machine, then this machine should work for you but it is quite expensive for what it does. However, if like me you are looking for a machine that will make great cappuccinos this is not the right machine. There is hardly any milk froth on top of the cappuccino once the machine is done and the foam is not thick at all. In addition, the ratio of espresso vs. milk for the cappuccino does not seem right. There was barely any coffee in the cup and it was mostly warm milk. While you can add another shot of espresso to the cup by continuing to press the button, what is the point of having an automatic cappuccino maker if you have to do that? After a few trials, I decided to return the machine. I bought a separate milk frother and I will continue to use my old espresso machine which makes good espresso but does not have a great frother.
