best all in one car seat for price
KS requires children to be harnessed in a booster or car seat until 80 lbs and most convertibles are not rated for this many lbs so parents have to buy a booster seat once they outgrow the convertible car seats. So I wanted one less thing to store by buying an All-in-one car seat which are usually rated up to 100 lbs and this is the best one for the money. At first, I went with the free one that our local sheriff's office gives out even though I would eventually need to get a booster. It was a costco and the base of the seat is so tall, it wobbled and seemed unsafe.The only other one I wanted to try was the Graco Smart seat that was more than twice the price of this one. This one has a low base that sits flat against the seat of the vehicle and seems safer that way. The only complaint I have is that there is a line that says it should be level with the ground when rear-facing and in the most reclined position. It isn't possible considering how the seat in the vehicles are slanted so when the car seat is rear facing and reclined, it's still fairly upright. My husband ended up putting a small board underneath the base of the front of the car seat in order to recline it further so our one year old's head wouldn't slump when asleep. Even though it's rated for 5-100 lbs, I wouldn't recommend it for an infant but beyond that, you're good.
