I have owned this coffee maker since December 2012 and have not had any issues. I am reading all the reviews, and I must say, these people like to complain a lot. I find no merit to their complaints. It works perfectly fine and brews excellent coffee. One thing I really like about it is it has a separate water chamber that is removable.

If I could give it 0 stars I would...
I have owned a dozen coffee makers and this was worse than my college dorm room coffee maker. It spilled all over the floor several times if the basket was not perfectly set right. The lid of the coffee maker was very difficult to keep clean because it somehow kicked up coffee and was ALWAYS retaining moisture. The silver finish on the outside always showed fingerprints (some of the silver finishes don't do this). The removable water carafe seemed so flimsy, I was waiting for the plastic to break each time I was filling it up. The coffee carafe lid was really hard to get on straight, I was fumbling with it several times before I could get it on straight. I felt bad about returning a coffee maker I used for a month, but it was terrible. Got a hamilton beach and love it.

Buyer Beware
The only positive comment I can make on this coffee maker is that it looks good. Like others have commented, this coffee maker leaks all over, including the hard to handle poorly designrd lid. The coffee is not hot and the thermal carafe is useless. I have never had a worse tasting coffee - instant is better than what this maker produces.
The brewing is fast - it signals with a beep - it is not done. If you pull the pot out is runs all over the counter and the bottom of the coffee maker.
The coffee maker is a complete disappointment and waste of money.

I should have listened!
After reading the reviews, I was a bit hesitant to buy this coffee maker but upon seeing it I did, with regrets. The coffee tastes fine after brewing, if you get any coffee in the carafe at all! We've only used it for 4 days and only once did it not spill all over because the top of the carafe didn't press down to open enough to let the coffee in. Attractive.... but definitely not worthwhile!
