The Y Spindle aids installation of pressure mounted KidCo safety gates to staircases that are not bordered by a wall. It wraps around the baluster to provide a secure installation. On the Gateway®, use the Y Spindle only on the hinge side of the gate. No more than two per gate can be used. On the Center Gateway®, the Y Spindle can be used on either side of the gate. However, they must be used on the same side. No more than two per gate can be used. NOTE: Not for use on a staircase with balusters on both sides.

If you are planning to install a stairway gate, there's no need to drill into staircase woodwork. This installation kit is compatible with hardware and pressure mount gates at both the top or bottom of the stairs. Included are clamps for both round post and square post installation. A smooth hardwood board is included for mounting to the clamps once they are attached to the post. Gate is then mounted to the board instead of your banister. Fits posts from 2 1/2" to 3 5/8" wide.

This expandable gate can fit openings as wide as 40" and is ideal for keeping little ones or pets safely contained.
