Defective From The Start
I purchased the first one and there was a "dent" in the Sole Plate; I exchanged it for the second one which had a cracked plastic in the heel; I exchanged it for the third one which had the finish worn off on the Sole Plate.
Three strikes and it's out. I returned it. If their quality control is so poor, then the product must be just as bad.

I'm disappointed
I bought this 10 days ago with high hopes. I noticed retailers liked it, customers, not so much. But I hoped I would get something for the investment; I was wrong. I collect textiles and was looking for a steam iron that would handle any kind of fabric. This did well on a heavy piece of wool, but next I tried embroidered cotton, silk shirts, etc. They were pretty bad. Lots of steam, yes. A satisfactory ironing job with no wrinkles, no. I intend to return and try something else.
Any suggestions?

Rowenta not durable
I would not recommend Rowenta irons for durability. I have owned a Steamium and a Rowenta Professional and both developed problems with the rotating cord, it developed a bad connection and shorted out.

Heavy but good iron
This one says made in germany so I paid top dollars for this iron because it is supposed to be quality. When I read the other reviews I could not believe all the problems others have had. So far I have used it twice. The round knob is a bit hard when you turn it, and the iron is a bit too heavy but overall it does a good job. I have a pump bottle of water and I spray the water from that bottle because when I use the button to spray water from the iron, it does not spray a good amount of water, but it does spray, but it is so hard to push that button that i decided not to use it and use a bottle. Maybe rowenta can do something about that.. ?
