Impressive - Worth Every Penny After singularly keeping Starbucks in business for the past 10 years, and trying to recreate those tasty $4 lattes with my drip coffee maker and various frothing devices, I finally felt that purchasing a reasonable espresso maker that also steamed/frothed milk was worth a shot. I'm a couple months into my love affair with this machine and couldn't be happier. It warms up quickly, is easy to clean, has simple and variable controls, and as a bonus, it fits into my kitchen decor as an attractive and relatively small appliance. I have made an average of 2 lattes a day and it still works beautifully. I know it's cliche, but it has already paid for itself and then some. Bottom line: professional style drinks, reasonable $$$ commitment. This thing is awesome. My only gripe is that I use BIG mugs that I have to snug underneath the nozzles. It does have a few different height settings, but they mostly accommodate smaller sized cappuccino or espresso cups. Not a deal breaker. May 11, 2013
The BEST Coffee Maker Purchase EVER! I researched for 2 months to purchase a coffee machine that also would make espresso, cappuccino and latte as easy as possible without the issue of purchasing those little cups of pre-made coffees. My father-in-law had one machine that you had to manually swirl the milk to froth it and it took forever. Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista Espresso Maker was not only the best auto-maker out there but a great value for the price (I paid $200). This machine is fully automatic. You can use whatever grounds of coffee you desire, whether whole beans you grind yourself or coffee grounds you buy (minus sugary ones) and any milk you want. NO SPECIFIC CUPS or those other brand types that have to be used with their machine! I can make as strong or as weak a cup I want. AND having the automated milk frother is a plus and has the option of how much froth you want! We make over 20 cups at day. Oh, it takes seconds! Easy clean too by a push of a button. You can store any left over milk in the container. Mine had only the two cup measurer but for one cup, I just use less coffee. I would pay $400 for this machine. It stands alone with the higher priced machines and far easier. Only Bed Bath and Beyond sells it and this was my first purchase with them. To me, that means that they know their top of the line products to stock. Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista Espresso Maker really does make and perform the best coffee sold at retailers. I recommend this product! May 3, 2013
Lattes at home! I've never owned an espresso maker so this was my first experience using one. Love it! The first time I used it, I was a little hesitant and had to keep referring to the manual. By latte three, I was a pro! Super easy to use! I could even describe how to use it over the phone to my husband with ease. I didn't have any espresso beans so have just been using coffee beans and grinding them more fine. My lattes are gooood! The machine is nice looking. Mostly plastic but the parts that heat up are all metal. It's not too big and actually smaller than my current coffee machine. I've seen some pretty big espresso machines out there. I haven't owned it long enough to judge the durability. This is also the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars versus 5. Based on the prices of other machines I've seen, this seems like a good buy. It does make a small cup but I just run it twice and my cup is full and very hot! I like the removable milk reservoir. No wasted milk this way. You have to clean the porta filter right after you've made your cup (after cooled down) or the grounds turn rock hard and you have or dig them out. Not easy and maybe preventable if I turned off the machine but I can't seem to remember to that. Other than that, easy to clean. We were sent the Barista as a sample to review and have used it everyday since! My coffee pot is getting no attention! May 2, 2013
best expresso ever! I got this free as a test product.at first I did not think it would be as good as the more expensive models but was I fooled! I am blown away at the flavor and ease of operation. every variety I have tried has been better than the one before. it's so simple to clean anyone can do it. I think so highly of it I am getting another for my daughters wedding present next month. she's also a coffee fan! May 2, 2013
