Oxo Good Grips Stainless Steel Mandoline Slicer
User-friendly mandoline is a great addition to any cook's kitchen. Stainless steel straight and wavy blades can be set to any slice thickness with the easy-turn dial. Great for making cucumber salads, potato chips, french fries, carrot sticks and so much more. Slicer stays stable with non-slip feet that sit wide apart. Stainless steel runway is textured to prevent food from sticking, while body is curved to leave plenty of space below for food to accumulate. The soft handle of the slicer sits lower than your body to keep your hand out of the way. Food is held securely and fingers are protected with the food holder that snaps beneath body when storing. Blades are easy to remove for cleaning and are safely covered when not in use, and they're stored on board for convenient storage. Storage is even more convenient and compact with folding legs that simply tuck underneath.

Fantastic Mandoline I purchased a very expensive French Mandoline 12 years ago. Tried using it a couple of times, but it did not work well. Gave up and stored it away. I got it out again after hearing Tom Douglas on the radio and tried the mandoline again. It still didn't work very well. So I gave it to the Goodwill and bought this OXO (which the Chef Tom Douglas mentioned) and it is FANTASTIC! Works so well on small and large items, easy to store, easy to clean, has foldable legs so nothing gets stuck under it and with the legs folded, it fits in a drawer. The holder has retractable teeth so when the item gets smaller, the retractable teeth get shorter. OXO did it again. Besides, the price was 1/4 the amount I spent on the fancy French Mandoline. I cook every night from scratch and use it just about every night. This will be great when we have lunch/dinner guests. August 18, 2012
Great Product After reading over the other reviews, many of which were negative, I am baffled. This is a great product! Yes, the blades are sharp. They are suppose to be, it is a mandoline. Anyone who is slicing fingers is not using it correctly. End of story. It is sturdy, easy use and to clean and performs as advertised. I have used it on a variety of vegetables and after a little experimenting, found what works for me. The directions clearly state that it is not intended for soft fruits and vegetables (specifically tomatoes) so why use this product for those items and then complain that it doesn't work? I love this tool and have found it to be a great addition to the kitchen. You won't be disappointed. August 9, 2012
Dangerous Item-DO NOT BUY I trusted the Oxo name and it sent my directly to the ER. 1. Instructions to change blades are tiny pictures with arrows, impossible to decipher. 2. Food gripper is not adjustable and only accommodates items larger than a lemon, so forget slicing a small cucumber, lime or radish. 3. Blades are EXPOSED, SHARP AND DANGEROUS. Within 30 seconds of using this gadget, I sliced two of my fingertips. Three weeks later and I cannot yet move my swollen and painful fingers. This item should be removed from the BBB shelves. If after reading this review you still insist on buying a mandoline, buy one with a COVERED BLADE. I saw one advertised in a popular chef's catalogue this week, same price as the OXO and "Well-Suited" to your needs. August 2, 2012
