Keurig Vue
Owned the Vue for a year and returned it for an Elite which I promptly returned for a Tassimo. First of all, the Vue is a HUGE machine which was prominent and most unattractive on the counter top. All the buttons were fun, but the Tassimo 55, at half the size, had the same options except it produced proper temps automatically by bar code. The Vue coffees were good, (loved the donut shoppe) but otherwise unexceptional. The bolder brews and espresso were not nearly as good as the Gevalia bold brews and espressos. The lattes were truly awful: pathetic foam, and flavor was so sweet that only a ten pump syrup StarBuckian could stand it. Furthermore, finding pods was too challenging. The fact that it holds so much water is great if you have that many coffee drinkers in the morning, otherwise the water sits stagnant in the tank for days. Returned the Vue to Kohls, (truly grateful they took it back after a YEAR) and took home the Elite, and returned that in a week. Did hours of internet comparative research, and tried a friend's Tassimo. Went to BBB, bought the Tassimo and couldn't be happier. BBB accepted my coupon and assured me that I could return it if not happy.

An average coffee maker
Ok so here is the deal with the VUE. We absolutely loved it as soon as it came out around March of 2012 and we purchased it around May for my husbands birthday. He was so excited because it was suppose to be ten times better than the other Keurig machines. We purchased it because it had the latte/cappuccino and the iced coffee/ tea options (something that the other Keurig machines did not), but we knew that there weren't many options for flavors at the time. However, there was promise of new flavors and lots of them to come that fall. Come fall, we asked where all the new flavors were supposed to be and there was promise for more to come around Christmas. Come Christmas, there were only a few additional flavors added, but promise of more to come in 2013. Yesterday we returned the VUE to BB&B because we were done waiting for the VUE to catch up to its obviously more successful counterparts (keurig elite, platinum, etc). Another reason we returned it was because the VUE did not have the option to put our own coffee grounds in a VUE shaped cup, but unfortunately we failed to do our research because after we returned it we soon noticed that they did in fact make that special cup for the VUE. So if you purchase this machine you can enjoy your own coffee. However, we weren't that sad after learning that they made that cup because we didn't appreciate the powdered milk they use and the disgusting artificial flavors they use for their coffees. My husband and I have this nasty after taste after drinking their Hazelnut flavored coffee. So with all that we rate this machine an average 3 stars. We hope this helps.

works great - works great with solofill cup k3
I wanted hotter, bigger, and bolder compared to the original Keurig k-kup system.
I got that!
Hotter = I set the temp to 197 degrees, as opposed to 183 degrees on the older model
Bigger = 1 set the mug size to 18 ounces as opposed to the largest on the older models of 12 ounces
Bolder = I pressed to "stronger" button, and the coffee brews stronger than the older models
Brewed my own grind = I purchased the travel mug sized vue pods, emptied one out, and put the solofill cup inside the vue pod, and it works just great. Now I brew my own grind.
Finally, hot enough, strong enough, large enough, and with the solofill, it is economical enough.

Prefer the Platinum
We have the Platinum at home and Vue in the office. I prefer the Platinum over the Vue. 1. K-cups are sold everywhere. Vue cups are not yet sold in all stores. 2. The Platinum is neater. The Vue splashes coffee from the cup to the counter with every cup... it's messy. 3. Platinum is quiet. Vue makes a weird slurping noise every time... it can be annoying. Both coffeemakers do make a very good cup of coffee.
