Too painful The first few days were tolerable but then I had to take a couple days off from using it. The results I saw during this time seemed positive. I resumed using it but had to take a couple more days off after 3 days of using it. I continued the 3rd time, used it 2 days and had to quit. It was too painful. I also noticed bruising on the 3rd round of trying to use the device. This is a device you have to use the rest of your life on a maintenance level if you want to keep the results. This machine works, I just couldn't handle the discomfort. I also had to wear make-up every day to conceal the redness. I don't wear alot of make-up and was frustrated that I had to use it every day with this device. I would not recommend this. June 30, 2012

Not a Magic Bullet I waited for this review until I was past the one month initial phase of the regime. After two weeks, I saw a lot more improvement in the wrinkles than I do after one month. I think this is explained by the slight swelling around the eyes in this intense treatment phase that gradually reduces as you move on to the intermittent phase. Overall, after a little over one month I see about a 30% reduction in fine lines and a 15% reduction in deeper lines. I'm 43 and don't have a lot of wrinkles to begin with, so this is just my opinion. I also saw a slight reduction in the red broken capillaries around the cheek area. They are still there, but much lighter in the places where I zapped. During the initial daily phase, my face looked sunburned where I used the laser and very rough to the touch. It was easily covered with makeup, however, so no one could tell I bought the Palovia! I don't have sensitive skin and I couldn't tell the difference in pain between the low and high settings, so you might as well just start on high. I started on low, but I'm not sure these settings are not just there to give you a placebo effect? Overall, I didn't find it very painful. I would love to have had it work a little better, but it is still worthwhile enough not to return. I'm interested to see how I will feel after a few more months of use. Keep in mind that they recommend using this laser for a lifetime, so one must be committed to twice weekly zapping forever... June 4, 2012

	Each treatment session with the PaloVia Laser has three stages: preparation, treatment, and post-treatment. The entire session takes three to four minutes. Cleanse the skin around your eyes and make sure it is completely dry. Apply a thin layer of PaloVia pre-treatment gel around both eyes. Now plan your treatment session. You will treat each wrinkle with a series of application stamps. Place the treatment window on the first wrinkle you want to treat. Adjust the hand piece so the contact light illuminates. This indicates that the treatment window is in full contact with the skin. Press and release the activation button. You'll know the laser is working by the flashing light and clicking sound. Now lift the hand piece off your skin and move it half an inch along the wrinkle, just enough to avoid overlap. In general, you will use six to eight applications around each eye. Gently clean the treatment window and place the hand piece in the storage case. Continue to use your regular skincare and cosmetic products.
