Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Canister Vacuum
The DC39 multi floor canister vacuum features Dyson's Radial Root Cyclone technology that reconfigures air channels to reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, so the inner cyclones can extract more microscopic particles and expel cleaner air. Suitable for all floor types, the DC39's Triggerhead tool is the only turbine head controlled at the handle with a fingertip control that switches the brush bar off for delicate rugs and hard floors and switches on for high pick-up on carpets. With a central steering mechanism and Dyson Ball technology, the DC39 turns on a dime to give you greater control and easily moves around obstacles. The clear bin, made from tough polycarbonate, allows you to see when it's full and empties at the push of a button. Includes non-removable HEPA filter, combination tool and stair tool. Five-year manufacturer's warranty. UL listed. Imported.

Great on Hardwood Floors!
I have been using this machine since January 2013. The first one I bought had a little plastic clip break when I was putting it together. I took it to a local repair and he suggested I return it to Macy's. Macy's Fed Ex'd another within a week. I got this during the Christmas sale so I decided to take the plunge on what seemed like a lot of money for a vacuum.
The Pros: This vacuum has great suction. It moves easily and gets into small places. I like the two attachments. The brush gets into corners and baseboard under the bed, etc. It has brought the fun back to vacuuming.
The Cons: My first disappointment was how cheaply it appears to be made ... and the clip breaking on the first one purchased. The canister gets dust caught up in places that don't come out when you release it (I have a new appreciation for bags). Do not buy this vacuum if you have carpeted floors or a lot of area rugs. I bought this for hardwoods but on the few area rugs I have the motorized attachment shuts down. It's not a problem with just a few rugs. You simply push the button on the top of the handle and it reduces the suction enough to clean rugs but I would not want to clean an entire carpeted house with this vacuum.
Overall I would recommend this vacuum. I am concerned how much dust will eventually collect in the canister that is impossible to get out. I have bad allergies and I can tell it has helped me by reducing the dust. Previously I used a Swiffer duster and I did a test using the Swiffer after vacuuming and it collected almost no dust.

dyson DC 39
This is not a very good vacuum, when you put your hand over the end the suction is great but when I vacuum the carpet nothing comes up. Any lint or anything for that matter on the carpet is still there when I am done!
It takes forever to vacuum and it is not even a good job.
Poor vacuum.
Do NOT recommend!!!

Love it!
Love this vacuum...it replaced another well known brand that obviously did not work...the stuff I vacuumed up after receiving DC39 was horrifying. Easy to assemble...easy to use...all the tools are great. Well worth the money.

Very dissatisfied
I have now read review 15 dated Oct-15-2012 from XYofLight. I wish I would have read this before I purchased my DC39. I completely agree with the negative evaluation that was given to this product. It would appear that I am now in the position of looking for a new vacuum and being out of pocket by several hundred dollars. Great advertising, but product certainly does not live up to its "highly touted" performance
