Worked great until it fell apart
I have had spinners before and they never worked. This one worked great and I used it all the time. We eat a lot of salads and I always put the parts in the upper part of the dishwasher. I have had it for about 6 months and had no problem. The other day when separating the parts to put in the dishwasher, the top where the push handle is fell apart and the spring popped out. I examined it to see what happened and it appears that the glue or whatever they use, stopped working and there was nothing to hold the parts together. Nothing was broken. I am very disappointed because it did work great before this time.

best salad spinner
I purchased this salad spinner 1 year ago, and it always looks like new. It works perfectly and it is very roomy! i'll definitly recomend this item it's sturdy and you don't have to hold it when it spins !

How did I live w/out a salad spinner for so long??
As my title states, how did I go so long without owning a salad spinner!?!? I began buying those bagged salads then just got so sick and tired of them already bad by the time I got home. It wasn't until I was diagnosed w/diabetes a couple months ago and needed to get serious w/my veggies etc that I realized, I must get me a salad spinner. Did research and kept coming back to this one and one other. While in BBB, saw the small one but decided look go big or nothing at all lets get the bigger one. Glad I did..however, I wouldn't even mind having a 2nd one (just to have). And yes, it can take up some space but as the other reviewer stated...if you like to just prep for the week or for me anyways its about every 3-4 days Im ready to do again...but the bigger one is worth it. Come holidays however, I may need the smaller one only so I can get the turkey or ham or anything else in the fridge because Im loading my fridge now with as much veggies/fruits I can being diabetic. This was a smart small investment to make my life so much easier...getting a 2nd one would be well worth it too. The "time" involved trying to get lettuce dried and I felt like I came out of the caveman days once I tried this for the first time....sooo easy, simple, all I asked myself is "where have you been girl where have you been"...should have done this longggg ago!!! Something so simple and small can make someone so happy and their life easier! haha'
I got the clear over the steel (for now) because I think the presentation of seeing the salad thru the sides of the bowl on a table looks pretty and colorful...there is only one small minimal question in my mind about the bowl and that is that Im noticing a slight "ring" around it from I guess when you "break the spin" but I normally let it sit there and spin after it is slowing down some. The bottom has a little rubbery something to it that does help it from slipping/bouncing on the countertop but if you are rough with it obviously it could jump /bounce away or fall off the edge of the counter. Its just common sense....stand there and gently but quickly spin it then wait for it to slow down and then walk away. It is like a washing machine! lol'. Spin N' Dry! ;-)) Im so happy with my purchase and very happy of having chose this one. Now to get the small one when needed or possibly even mix it up a bit and when I want the smaller version will try the stainless steel one ....both should act the same:))

you definitely want the large one
i had a smaller salad spinner for the longest time and always wanted a larger one from the get go. i eat a ton of leafy greens, so, you really need the bigger one if you are like me and like to wash everything one day and have it prepped for the week. it takes up more space, but you get so much more done. this also works WAAAAAAY better than the cheapo one i got at ross or whereever i got the old one. very sturdy, dishwasher safe, large capacity. yay!
