Avoid this product
Cuisinart Grind Central does not grind the coffee as fine as the $10 grinder I formerly used. In addition, no matter how few beans I attempt to grind, the grounds always flow over the top and make a mess on the counter when I remove the top. I'm exceedingly disappointed with this product.

buyer beware
Cusinart buyers beware!
Initially worked like a charm for the first few months, but after a few month of intermittent use it started smoking and stopped working. This is the second Cusinart appliance that stopped working after less-than a year of use (our other item was a smartstick hand blender).

Its okay
The grinder never got the grinds fine enough for my preference nor for my french press. I had to continue to shake the beans around to get them to grind and there were usually pieces that were cracked rather than ground. However, to be fair, I think I expected too much from it and should have chosen a different sort of grinder. My fault

Sham Central
This is the worst coffee grinder I've ever owned! It barely lasted a year before "crashing!". The blade base broke up one night like some cheap grinder you'd buy at the dollar store. I'm going back to using Proctor Silex.
