Keeps Cracking and Leaking Blue Stuff
I have had two of these and each started to leak. I first noticed it when my freezer had blue liquid spreading through it. The tab on the back which holds the bowl in the mixer breaks and then leaks the freezing liquid. My mixer is great for other attachments but I finally bought a CUISINART Icecream Maker which is cheaper than the bowl and makes BETTER icecream.

Works great!
I love my KA, and have been lusting after the attachments for a while. We got this one as a gift, and we've already used it twice to make ice cream. It works just as well as our old separate appliance ice cream maker, and now we don't have to store that! As with the other KA bowl, it is a bit hard to mix small batches, but that is such a minor problem it's hardly worth mentioning.

AWESOME!
I bought this from my local store and used it three days later! It works amazingly. I leave mine in the deep chest freezer when not in use so it's ready when I am. We have made 4 batches including cookies & cream, chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, and triple chocolate. Ice cream is about soft serve consistency when it's done so it's good to freeze it for a while before serving. I love that most of the ingredients I have on hand at all times. No need for rock salt or ice. It's simple and fast! LOVE IT!

Leaks!
I love KitchenAid products and attachments, so I hate to give this a bad review. But after doing research on the internet, I know I'm definitely not the only person who's had this problem. I DID like that it made really good ice cream - I thought it was fairly easy to use and never had problems with it freezing enough - it always did the job. The problem is that a lot of people, including myself, saw that it started to "leak" that gooey blue stuff that is inside the bowl to help it freeze. That doesn't sound safe, and I had seriously used it no more than 6 times when it started. I read one review online from someone who replace their bowl 4 times in 6 years because of the same problem. Obviously that is a problem KitchenAid needs to work on. Very disappointing. :(
