Great Duel Pan
Bought this for my mom. She said it was the best pan she has ever had. Good size for large turkey and also deep enough for Lasagna. She was surprised at how heavy it was and needed my brother to put the turkey in & out of the oven. Because of the reviews I read, I also bought her the cuisipro roasting rack. It has a non stick finish and a pin that pulls out to drop your roast on the platter instead of needing to lift it off the rack and place it on the platter. She said it worked really well and clean up was super easy. I also gave her Bar Keepers Friend which is recommended for quality stainless steel clean up. She said clean up was super easy.

Pan was good but Rack was bad
We purchased the "Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 16x13x4-in. Roasting Pan with Rack" to use for making our holiday turkey. I am an experienced cook, and prepared our turkey as is typical. The hottest our oven reached was 325 F. We smelt a scent like that of metal being saudered during the turkey's cooking time. We did not notice anything out of the ordinary, so I carved some of the turkey breast and used some of the juices to make gravy. Much to our horror, my family and I realized during clean up that the nonstick rack had some of its coating missing, seemingly where it came into contact with the pan. At these contact points there was green blotches, about nickel-sized on the roaster itself. I was very upset thinking I fed my family gravy that had non-stick coating in it. I did nothing unusual with the pan: I purchased it, did a very gentle hand washing with warm soapy water and a dishcloth, and then set it in the oven with the turkey. We are distraught enough about the non-stick coating and the possibility that we ate it!
We wrote Calphalon and they responded as such: We are sorry to hear of the difficulty you have had with our product. Certainly with the use you have described, it is very unusual for the nonstick coating on our roasting rack to fail. While such a material is nontoxic if ingested, we certainly will be very interested in examining the rack once it has been returned to us by the retailer. We truly apologize for the frustration our product has caused you.
