Be careful!
I have some excellent steel cutlery and take the time to keep them sharp. This one, right of the box, is the sharpest. Maybe "sharp" isn't technically accurate, because it's a combination of the thin edge and the serrations along that edge that make these ceramic knives perform so beautifully. It will saw through soft, pliant very ripe tomato skin with the first movement, whereas my sharpest steel knife pushes through after the second or third movement. It feels like a toy in the hand, but be careful.
I have no other brand of ceramic knife so I can't compare in that respect. The only thing I wish it had would be a strip of metal in the handle so that I could keep the ceramics on my magnetic knife strip.
