No cool spots
I have used this heater for 3 years now. I don't understand all the negative reviews. This heater out performs any of the other heaters. This heater heats the "whole" room as it says without the cold spots associated with the way other heaters work. Also, the company backs up their products. You have to realize the way this heater works, and not to expect hot air to blow from it like other heaters. In saying this, it warms up the whole room. Something you won't find any other heaters do. Also, this is suppose to be used as a supplemental heater,and not a sole source of heat. Some people's expectations are unrealistic when it comes to "room heaters'. thumbs up to Vornado! Thank you! your heaters are great.

Extraordinary: Maintains fixed room temp
5 stars.... I purchased the Vornado TVH600 room heater two winters ago. We use the TVH600 in our bedroom above the garage. The room is centrally heated but this bedroom looses heat quickly. The TVH600 is extraordinary at maintaining a fixed, constant temperature in the room. You pick a temperature for the room and the heater will nail it. TheTVH600 seems to have an excellent room temperature sensor and it continuely adjusts heat output to maintain a constant room temperature. I have a watt meter attached to the TVH600. I expect that it will cost less than $60 to operate over the 2012-13 winter (in Virginia). As others have noted, the TVH600 is very quiet. FYI, the TVH600 is a room heater, not a "spot heater". We also purchased the TVH600 for my Father (Florida) who appreciates a warm room that does not vary in temperature.

I love this heater
This has been the coldest winter in years in Southern California--I know, we don't really know what cold is.....But like many California residences, mine is not well-insulated and before this heater, I couldn't ever get warm. It has been a life saver --so easy to set up and I LOVE the remote. I can get it started before I get up in the morning and turn it off when I go to sleep. It heats evenly and gently and I just love it!

Vornado TV500 heater
I have used many different types of room heaters, but this one outshines them all. The top of the unit has a clear LED readout and the temperature control with remote is wonderful. But the best part of all in these tough economic times is that there is very little electric usage for them. I have had mine for five years with no problems at all and just placed an order for three more for our other homes.
