Not what I expected
I've been using the same grinder for about 18 years and it's dying, so I purchased this one. I have another burr grinder, but it doesn't grind the beans finely enough to suit me, so that's why I got another small one like this. It's not very thorough at grinding the beans, and leaves larger chunks than is desirable for me, even after pulse grinding 'til I was tired of messing with it. I'm taking it back for a refund. I don't see how, with the design, ( flat bottom container with the blade so far off the bottom) this could do any better than it does, so I don't think this one is defective. I should be able to powder the coffee with a grinder like this, and this one won't do that.

Bought for Flax Seeds for my blender/smoothies
Did a GREAT job of pulverizing the flax seeds. Sometimes had to "shake" the grinder to make it mix better. Then I found out my Vitamix would take care of them (flax seeds) so I no longer use it for that. I must say though, like someone else who reviewed this product, there is a groove on the dome that is a little hard to clean, but no big deal. A little hot water and the sprayer function of my faucet did the trick.

Wanted to Love It
I picked this up at my local store. I had read plenty of reviews on all types of girnders before purchasing. As this was made by Capresso my expectations were high, yet ultimately dashed on the rocks in the end. It took a minimum of 45 seconds to grind 3 level scoops of coffee beans for my French press and there were still half-ground beans in the hopper. I like my coffee to be coarse but don't want to chew it. Also, it is not a very good looking appliance.
I will be returning this shortly for a refund. I picked up a Krups F203 grinder, in RED (matches my Bodum Electric French Press), and it performs flawlessly! Some reviewers complained about the hemispherical chamber being hard to clean but I have no problem with a brush. The Krups F203 does a great job with coarse grinds and takes half as long.

Not good for flax seeds
I bought this coffee grinder last night, for grounding flax seeds. I tried it out when I got home, and didn't like it. It didn't grind the flax seeds very well, and it didn't seem very powerful. I also don't like the lid. It's hard to get off and there is a little lip at the top where all the grinds would get stuck and be hard to clean.
Will be returning it.
