Motor broke exactly at end of warranty.
It's been 10 years of very minimal use for this machine - grating, chopping, cookie dough. This week I went to use it and noticed the white plastic (mine's white) covering the push buttons was cracked through seemingly from age. Not great for keeping it sanitary. I see current models have reverted to the old style push buttons that are solid plastic - a much better idea. So, the motor slowly spins now. It's useless. Was told to mail in the unit for inspection and to get quote on repair. Not sure it's worth it since the lid also cracked years ago and is held together by masking tape. Average machine. Dislike the "safety" / Annoyance feature on this model that requires you to click the lid and also click in the larger feeder tube to start the machine. Other models start after lid is locked in place - much preferable. Won't repurchase same model - would buy an older style - they lasted longer.

Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus
I bought this food processor in November 2011 and have used it regularly for grating, slicing, shredding, and making pastry dough (pâte brisée, which comes together in about 20 seconds). Most often, I use it to grate large quantities of vegetables and cheese. The food processor served me very well until yesterday, when the bottom of the lexan work bowl broke off at a point where the bowl twists onto the base. When I called Cuisinart customer service (on a Sunday morning), I was told that the work bowl and all the blades should be washed by hand, even though the user's manual says everything is dishwasher-safe. I went ahead and ordered a replacement work bowl, since I've grown to rely on the food processor. The machine would have received five stars in the review if consumers were presented with more-accurate information up front. I would still recommend this food processor, with the one piece of advice about hand washing the parts.

Good investment
I bought this model from BBB a little over 4 years ago. It runs as well now as it did the day I bought it. I've used it for baking, slicing vegetables, shredding cheese, making pie crusts, breaking ice cubes, you name it. The base is pretty heavy, but it keeps the unit from sliding around while its in use. And its SO easy to clean, just pop everything into the dishwasher! The included blades are still nice and sharp. I wish the rest of my appliances were this low maintenance. Highly recommend.

Makes cooking a breeze!
I love my new Cuisinart food processor; it replaced a 25-year old Black & Decker that would jam frequently. I had to refer to the booklet to set it up each time I've used it because I always put the handle in the wrong place and don't match up the circles. However, in time, I will get better. Chopping, slicing, is so easy because it's very powerful. I used it already for pastry and that was also quick & easy. It is heavy due to the motor, but it saves me so much time in the long run. It's also quieter than I expected. I am VERY happy with this machine.
