We have a crystal ice bucket but it is uncovered and really didn't work for a cookout. This vinyl ice bucket is perfect for our spring/summer family dinner cookouts. It holds a good amount of ice and it stays 'ice' for hours, well after everyone had gone home.The cover is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars; you can't keep a scoop in the bucket AND keep the top on, which means the scoop is now 'uncovered'. It would have been nice if the top had a notch to allow a scoop to stay inside the bucket (maybe even the manufacturer could add the notch and include a scoop?) Overall, very satisfied.
