Excellent Product - great bang for buck
My wife recently got this for me on a recommendation from my cousin to her. Two of my relatives have the same machine but an older model. So far I love it. I haven't purchased/used pods for it but having the option to use pods is nice. I use italian ground espresso in the machine and have been making regular espresso and cappuccino's. The espresso has a very very nice crema on the top when both shots are poured.
For under $250 this machine is excellent and serves my purposes very well. I don't think giving 1 star for it not working when you got it is right. Give it a second shot, you might have gotten a lemon which can happen with all products. I have had zero issues thus far.

Great! (almost out of the box)
I love this machine. But I had trouble initially. This is my 2nd machine. I returned the first because the pump would not suck water from the water tank into the intake valve, not even when I took off the water tank and tried to pour small amounts of water in at a time (I found that suggestion on Amazon). I returned the first one. (Many thanks for BB&B's wonderful return policy.) When the 2nd machine arrived the same thing happened. In frustration, I let it sit out of the box for three days before trying again as a last attempt before returning it as well. This time I poured a small amount of water into the intake valve. The water just sat there until I put my finger on the little prong in the middle of the valve and wiggled it. Success! I poured a little more, wiggled, and the machine sucked in the water again! I placed the water tank back on, making sure it was seated well with the prong pushing up into the water tank. From then on the machine has worked just fine. I get great espresso and the milk frother is wonderful! As others have suggested, do make sure to pull 2 shots of just hot water, swirling the hot water around the cup to warm it. Then pull your espresso shot. It really makes a difference in keeping your drink hot.
